While I do enjoy the usual banter and laughs on a Paddock podcast, I have to say this was one of the best I've watched. Joe is always a good host and has good questions and arguments but this was my favourite version of Ste, a bit more of a low key , calm convo. I was impressed with his breakdown and perspective on the manager situation. He put the whole thing into perspective when comparing Carrick and the current set-up to past managers, squads, eras etc. I think INEOS need to watch this one if they're feeling unsure of their own decision making. Like Ste said, people are unrealistic about what we need or should want. Sometimes, a good fit is a good fit. Regardless of managerial experience in the top flight. For me, Carrick has already proved that he is at the very least worth giving a season or two. It's time to end the chopping and changing.
Why doesn’t anyone bring up the Arteta/Guardiola/Zidane argument with Neville when he keeps pressing for top experienced managers
Carrick might not be the ONE but we will never know until we try. There are no guarantees in the coaching market. You go with the guy with a 70% win rate and keep on moving forward.
What does Neville know about playing under an interim?
Love ste’s perspective. Joe, PSG are kicking the ball into touch against Bayern like it’s rugby. Football is about winning.
It's so true, people want perfect, and there is no such thing. Carl Anka talked about this on Paddock in the post-Ole pre-Ten Hag times, fans want a unicorn who ticks every box. It doesn't exist and if it did, why would they want to come to United? The better answer to the Unicorn question is, hire the best fitting coach, and hire the staff around them that support them and do the things they can't. Ineos know this, and they're trying to get better at it, whereas Glazers were happy letting Woodward and Judge run the club like a bank, and left everything else to the manager. We're not dealing with the same problems as 3 years ago, so we shouldn't have the same hangups as 3 years ago.
Thanks Steve for saying why Ole failed, big part was the recruitment and he missed a big calm head in the staff.
Steee is looking jacked! Good job bro! It's awesome to see your transformation. Been watching you for years now. It's inspiring.
I see Carrick has a good chance of winning the league next season depending on how the transfer window goes, and if it doesn’t go well he’ll still get us playing well to be there or there about’s. 21 is coming unless INEOS do a mad one. I think we will be seeing a lot of academy players being brought up to the first team in the season to come. Chido for one is definitely looking more promising Lacey, J. Fletcher the list is long. I for one think the future is looking better than it has for a long time, Carrick deserves a chance. UTR&UTP! p.s. Great work lads✊🏼✌🏼🙂
Ste was mint in this vid. Joe classy as always. Really enjoyed listening to this one. Thanks lads.

So it begins. See you in May next year when we'll look for a manager, or winter who knows... Biggest surprise would be Carrick to suddenly change and implement a sustainable style of play. We can only hope.
Personally I’m not really bothered if we dominate possession, it’s not always easy on the eye (think under LVG) but if we did want to, we’d need the players to do so. Other than Kobbie, we don’t have a midfield capable of doing so. People used to beat Ollie with the same stick as well, but who was his midfield?
4:26 “guys, what are we gonna do? We’ve been winning all these games, but our high presses are down…”
Great conversation guys.thanks for the common sense Steve.
Lads, I agree with everything your saying regarding his results and the culture he has set. I just watched the Rio interview and Casemiro said Carrick's man management is the same as the Don 🇮🇹 I've heard enough #21IsComing 🏆 🔥
Joe’s question at the end really stuck with me and honestly made me uneasy. The way he framed Carrick’s situation made the next step scenario feel very real if things go wrong. It just brought back that feeling of… are we repeating the same cycle again — keeping managers because of results rather than a clear long-term plan?
Rangnick did badly because everyone knew he was a dead man walking, you’re not going to learn new tactics and give everything for a manager you know is leaving, carrick and ole had prospects of being permanent well into their terms so it was the opposite for them, surprised ste wouldn’t know that
Didn’t hear people moaning in Fergie’s time when we played counter attack v Arsenal etc
