You've reached the end
They made this movie, the real guy got invited to an awards ceremony, had ticks, and they bashed him for it. Showing at in the end, they are still intolerant of his condition. Super sad.
If you can't control your language,.don't apologize ❤ Dottie is a real one!
I want to hug Lottie “we gotta talk about your language.” “You’ve gotta stop apologizing.” 🥺
I'm sorry, but that "Fuck Off!" that followed the "Lucy, can you step out of the door please?", was freaking HILARIOUS😂
Very sad that people with tourettes have to go through this. I knew a person that suffered from this and was bullied and his final resort was suicide. I hope this world becomes a better place.
Sadly, Dottie so much better in responding this disease compared to his mom. Certainly because she had diagnosed with cancer and she’s a nurse.
This is how humanity is supposed to be, kind and forgiving. Then helping people who need it the most.
“Today you are the majority and not the minority” That’s genuinely one of the best things to hear if you’ve lived being the minority <3
My sister has tourettes and the idea of people treating her like this makes me sick. People don't even realise that the tics can get even worse when they are stressed, and that berating and bullying can help start a ticking episode (for my sister, it looks like constant whistling, gasping and neck twitches for minutes on end). People need to be nicer to others, but I think movies like this could really make the difference to helping inform and humanise people with different neurological conditions.
FINALLY A CHANNEL THAT: 1. DOESNT USE BAD MUSIC (phonk) 2. DOESNT HAVE NARRATION 3.ACTUALLY TELLS YOU THE NAME SO YOU DONT HAVE TO BEG PEOPLE IN THE COMMENTS WHHOOOOOOO
Seeing examples of how Tourette affects your life and the strategies people adopt to cope helps me understand and support my daughter better. It's rare to see Tourette featured in movies.
It is really embarrassing to have sudden movements like that. I am always apologizing to others for scaring them. Thank god, i don't have the uncontrolled vocal outbreaks.
And while this movie was being awarded with the man it's based on present, the BBC thought it was a good idea to not edit out something bad he said on pre-recorded footage, and the 2 people presenting the award took offense to what he said as it was a slur... He wasn't even on-stage or anything, there was a mic near his table for some god damned reason...
The 🍵 part made me smile.
That movie looks like a real good one.
The movie is called I SWEAR and it’s on netflix
I worked with a person with Tourette’s. I frankly didn’t care about the outburst. It was nothing but normal growing up in a latin household with 4 siblings, aunts, cousins and yelling.
One of my friends has a 9 year old son with tourettes. Hes an absolute legend of a kid with the stuff he says. We laugh, he laughs and hes actually happy. He doesnt get any grief at school.... legend!
Even with the success of this movie it's still crazy that the liberals of Hollywood called the guy racist after he called Michael b Jordan the n-word. It's almost like they don't even understand tourette's and they didn't even watch the movie
And to think that this dude went from that ridiculously hammie, frankly shite performance in the rings of power to this perfectly acted, touching role is crazy, its like he's a different person. Its obviously the producers and directors that ruin shows and movies and not always the actors, this man is living proof of that. Another thing, idk if he actually is Scottish but if he ain't he's doing a flawless east Coast Scottish accent, and to fool actual scots, well thats almost impossible so props to him if he is putting it on
