However, it’s no ordinary facelift, with around 50% of the car having been changed, making it the most extensive mid-life update in Mercedes history! The question is, does this new S-Class have what it takes to compete with the Audi A8 & BMW 7 Series? Let’s take a closer look… Starting with the exterior, there are several large updates, most notably at the front, where there’s a whole new look. The DRLs have been updated to include the 3-pointed star lights, and there’s an all-new grille. However, while it may be all-new, it looks quite plastic and cheap - especially when blacked out in the AMG Line trim. The side profile remains largely the same, and at the back, there are updated (and improved) taillights and a new bumper design. However, it’s on the inside where the most notable changes can be found, with the new panoramic Superscreen now sweeping across the entire dash. It encompasses the infotainment screen and a separate screen for the passenger, and it features Mercedes new infotainment system - a marked improvement over the previous iteration! There’s also a new steering wheel (with some physical buttons), and of course, the cabin is covered in soft-touch, high-quality materials. In the rear, the seats are as comfortable as ever, especially in the two-seat edition that we have here. There’s a huge centre console with lots of storage, new passenger screens, and the seats fully recline just as they used to. The new Mercedes S-Class will cost from £103,000 for the AMG Line Premium trim we have here. However, depending on the engines and trims you choose, this could rise up to around £140,000! So is it the must-have luxury limousine, or are you better off going for an Audi or BMW? Stick with Mat to see for yourself!

This car in my opinion needs more plastic, digital buttons, piano black, Mercedes logos and lights, bigger screens, and a bigger grill.
20 million finger prints on the dash is very luxurious.
I think they've lost the plot when the 'best' thing about the S-class is the new superscreen.
this car is a prime example of modern car design fatigue..
Hear me out. Let's replace the windscreen with a live-feed screen. Make it subscription based, if the user doesn't pay, the screen cuts out and starts playing 'Jesus, Take the Wheel'.
Let’s be honest here.. that radar / auto cruise piece looks beyond terrible
The S-Class from 2016-2020 is probably the best looking "modern" S-Class
first
Listen up. Let's get a live-feed screen in place of the windscreen. Make it subscription-based, with the screen cutting out and playing "Jesus, Take the Wheel" if the user doesn't pay.
not 1 single person wants a 70" TV for a dashboard....
what a soulless car
New Ass Class 💀
Putting gaming monitors on dash board is NOT LUXURY
Mercedes needs to fire at least 50% of its mid and top level managers and design cars for customers again
Everyone hates screens except for journalists
I absolutely HATE the huge glossy screens. It looks so cheap and sterile and is exactly the opposite of a cozy interior
Why do motor journalists believe having big stupid screens is luxury. It’s more Primark than Harrods.
they changed 50% of car... but at same time lost 63% of buyers 🙂
GTA kids have grown up to become real car designers.😅😅😅😅😅😅
