Most car brands try to look safer, cleaner, more respectable. Jaguar’s mistake was trying to win inside that same room, where BMW and Mercedes already owned the obvious answer. But some buyers are not looking for the obvious answer. They may know BMW is good, they may respect Mercedes, but they do not want their car to say the same thing as every successful person in finance. That is where Jaguar had power. Not as the better version of BMW, but as the choice for people who need status without sameness. Some brands lose the moment they become too easy to explain. They did probably need a rebrand. But it was executed so poorly.
In my last year of selling automobiles I saw the exact opposite happening. People above 50,60+ years of age. Sold their companies, kids out of the house, absolutely nothing to prove to anyone and they bought... The brand new Mitsubishi Outlander phev with 8 year warranty. Just as comfortabele as their previous german cars but.. without the yearly €1500/€2000 garage bill and without the arrogance of the dealership. Best kind of customers I've had, learnt a lot from them.😊

Only problem i heard in this video is that people don’t understand the concept of why you want to be rich. You get money for freedom, not to worry what Bob will say if he gets a peak at your living room in one meeting you have with him
Now they are an outlier in every category. Just more weirder.
Why let other people decide what you want?
Jaguar needs to move more upscale and not try to compete with the Germans. Their current new design language is a failure.
