For millions of years, Earth did not know sunlight. Before forests, before dinosaurs, before even the first cell divided in the ocean, our planet endured an era of relentless storms. The sky remained locked in thick, suffocating clouds. Lightning tore across the atmosphere. Torrential rain fell without pause. This was not a seasonal storm. This was a planetary transformation. Around 4 billion years ago, during the Hadean and early Archean eons, Earth was a world of fire and water. Volcanoes erupted across a molten surface. Asteroids struck relentlessly. And above it all, water vapor condensed into endless rainfall that would shape the oceans we know today. But how long did it last? Could rain truly fall for millions of years? What caused it? And how did this violent era prepare Earth for life? In this full documentary, we explore the geological evidence, atmospheric science, and planetary physics behind Earth’s most extreme weather period. Using modern research and scientific reconstruction, we uncover how endless storms transformed a hostile young planet into a world capable of sustaining life. This is the story of how Earth was forged by rain. If you are fascinated by early Earth, mass extinctions, planetary evolution, and the deep history of our world, this documentary will change how you see the sky above you. 🔎Tags: early earth, hadean eon, archean eon, earth history documentary, full documentary earth, planet earth storms, millions of years rain, formation of oceans, birth of earth oceans, early atmosphere earth, volcanic earth history, ancient climate earth, prehistoric earth documentary, how oceans formed, earth 4 billion years ago, global storms history, early planet formation, earth evolution documentary, science documentary full, geology documentary, planetary science documentary, extreme weather history, earth before life, origin of water on earth, asteroid impacts early earth, molten earth history, ancient earth climate, earth timeline documentary, deep time earth, history of our planet, natural history documentary, science explained earth, earth atmospheric evolution, primordial earth, earth transformation history, world of fire and rain, ocean formation theory, volcanic storms earth, early solar system earth, earth catastrophe history, mega storms earth, planet earth explained, earth science documentary, ancient world documentary, geological history earth, early earth conditions, how life began on earth, water cycle origins, climate evolution earth, full earth documentary

I was really interested in watching this. I saved it for later in my bookmarks, only to be so let down by the video having no connection to the audio. You might as well had used a loop of a cake baking in the oven or a kettle boiling. I got to 12:40 of this mismatch and could stand it no longer. Awful idea.If i could work out how to stop this channel comming up again, id do it. So unimpressed.
David Attenborough rocks!!!🎸😎 Such a great defender of conservation!!
Why do the pictures have completely nothing to do with the script? “Nothing lived there, there was no water, no land.” Images of oceans, a turtle, plants, blue skies… this makes no sense
This documentary by Sir David Attenborough is an incredible journey into Earth's distant past, exploring a time when rain poured for millions of years. If you added more visual timelines or animations showing Earth's transformation during that period, it would make the story even more captivating and shareable.
Sounds nothing like Attenbrough
Too many adverts
I love your videos so much. I wish you had given something of a timeframe. I can handle it.
