The animated depiction used here should have been more thoughtfully vetted. The fossil head of this apex predator would clearly show that its eyes would have been forward facing, not flat to the sides as shown in this cgi depiction. Not only has this always been true for almost all large predators, but you can tell from the skinny snout this creature had.

Instead of hanging off the side of a cliff to do this kind of intense and careful work, wouldn't it have been safer and easier, and even likely cheaper, to setup some kind of crane or scaffolding from the beach?
