I’ve never seen an awards ceremony cut off an acceptance speech like that, especially when the winner wasn’t even speaking for that long. If that’s how they’re going to treat the recipient, why give the award at all? I hate to say it, but it really came across as blatant racism. It says a lot about the level of the Academy Awards.
