Using instant charcoal is frowned upon in the BBQ community, but who cares? Sit your charcoal on one side, light it, let it burn for 10-15 minutes until it's whitish-gray, and the rest is history. To control the temp adjust vent. Prefer reg charcoal? Use a chimney starter: light it, wait 15 minutes, then dump the coals into the grill. It's easy, and you'll never fear grilling again for the win.
