Thank you for your support, and most importantly for the connections. — Debbie ---- Last summer I rode more than 2,000 miles through Alaska and the Yukon, camping most nights and relying on a truly minimalist moto camping setup. After living in Alaska for 25 years, this was the ride where I finally refined my ultralight motorcycle camping gear — a practical, no-nonsense kit made from things I already owned or repurposed. No fancy gear, no sponsorships, just a real moto camping kit that works on long-distance northern roads. In this video, I break down my entire motorcycle camping setup in a fun stop-motion gear video, mixed with images from my trip. If you’re curious how to pack light for adventure motorcycle travel, or you want ideas for a minimal moto setup for your next ADV ride, you’ll find ideas here. Whether you’re planning your own Alaska motorcycle trip, riding the Yukon, or just looking for practical, ultralight moto camping ideas, this setup is simple, and was tested across rough northern miles and backpacking trips. Bike even has a acerbis tank. Gal is going places! Great ride and setup! Cool to see, and setting a awesome example for us all.
I like your "animation" of gear getting packed.
Nicely done, both the filing and the packing. You and I pack remarkably similarly and on the same bike.
Such a great video, thanks
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing it! Safe rides out there! 👍👍
wow. thanks for taking the time to do stop motion... this is time consuming. But made it very intertaining, and different from typical moto camping gear videos.
Hi! This video just popped up in my recommendations. I really enjoyed it. I've done many multi-month bike trips; this past summer I rode 5000 miles across the US, mainly on the TAT. I absolutely geek out on gear and packing videos. While I have a 2001 DR that I absolutely love, my latest trip was on a Himalayan 411. Great bike on dirt, asphalt roads not so much. Now to watch the rest of your videos 😃 Safe travels!
I've been riding for 45 years and have been adventure riding long before the term was coined and have rode tens of thousands of miles. I have overpacked and underpacked at times, but the one thing that I've discovered is that a good sleeping mat is a must and coffee in the morning make for a good day. Also my old stuff has worked just fine but have taken care of it. I finally had to replace my tent this year after 20 years. I paid $25 for it in 2005. I'm now pulling a cargo trailer simply because of my age and arthritis and I'm not riding many trails anymore but I still love the adventure of the ride! Thanks Debbie for posting. Jon ☺
The best choice you made was the DR650, old reliable. Thank you for the advice we all need to use the K.I.S.S. Methode that you showed.
Great video and an even better bike. I was wondering what you do for recharging. Are there outlets at the campsites, or do you have a solar panel with a battery bank?
No bearspray?
No tools? Did I miss the tools?
