Welcome back, Runa! I'm glad to follow along on your new adventure. ❤
Great to see you back; North Island looks similar to sone parts of UK (but without the traffic!). Ride safe…from Cambridge 🇬🇧
Finally a report from New Zealand
And off we go again... living the dream vicariously through you :)
Just a futher cautionary tail regarding jet lag. After a mere 5 hr flight east from Vancouver to Toronto. Driving the additional 2 hrs home from the airport I too felt wide awake and alert. I have felt much more tired driving many times before. HOWEVER! I learned quickly that Jet Lag is a very real thing even if you think it is not affecting you. While feeling perfectly alert, I realized thatI HAD DRIVEN RIGHT PAST MY EXIT and had to continue for another 10 minutes to the next overpass to turn around and head back home. I then suddenly realized that I HAD DRIVEN PAST MY EXIT AGAIN! I drove an extra 40 minutes to get home that night. I will never underestimate the affects of jet lag again and that is why I scheduled a full day walking tour of Reykjavík, before even picking up bike in Iceland despite having only 6 days till the flight home. We had to cut a large chunk out of our itinerary due to lack of time, but I never for one moment regreted that first day. On a bike, one moment of lost concentration can ruin, not only an entire trip, but all the trips to come. Please take care Runa, I want to be still following your adventures when I am unable to ride anymore myself.
A very pleasant New Zealand scenic ride with the most pleasant Norden 901 rider"
Going off grid along NZs country and backroads is much quieter to absorb and enjoy NZs scenery
