An adventure bike isn’t what you buy, it’s what you do with it. No matter what it might be. Everyone has a different idea of what works for them. Twenty five years ago my “adventure bike” was a GSXR 1000. Took me everywhere for years.

I was riding through Patagonia last month. Saw a lot of real adventure bikes. Mostly BMWs and a few assorted other bikes. Most impressive was a Triumph Bonneville. Only modifications were big block tires and he took the mufflers off to make room for big side cases. He had ridden from California to southern Argentina and was still going south.
