I'm at 40k miles on my Tiger 800XC, love it. Tall, bit top heavy... But with a few small mods (windscreen!) great on the highway, good fun on the trails
I started on my dads 72 suzuki ts125 20 something years ago. Loved it and then stepped up to his Harley sportster 1200xl and now am stepping back to dirt. Pavement is boring. But have no idea what to go with. Looking at the klr650 or its honda or suzuki counterparts
I really like your reviews.. Sober and valid points without fuzz!!
Hope you get a chance to review the 2026 Tenere 700. Looks like several changes since the 2022 including lower center of gravity and more advanced stability and traction control. As a 6’3” 220 lb experienced street rider I’m hesitant to purchase a small bike like the CRF300, even to “learn” on if I’m having to ride with my knees banging my elbows. Love ALL your videos and advice! Keep ‘em coming!
Thanks for the advice
Phew! I am so glad you did not mention the KTM Super Adventure S or the Multistrada V4 Rally!!!
Hi there I ride endurance bikes over the country but due to some changes in life I am looking at a honda nx500 what's your thoughts its not going to get a lot of use as will always take the drz 250 in the Mt etc but this is more for the road. Keep in mind our roads are 90 percent gravel
I’m 64 now. Been riding and mx,desert racing since 10. I own a KTM 1190 Adventure R and a BMW 1200GS. I’m heading to Alaska for the 5th time next year on my 2” lowered BMW single cylinder GS650. One last bit of advice for any off pavement rider, leave the hard sided panniers at home and get good soft ones. Less chance of a broken leg.
Thank you sir for putting this video out to all the inexperienced riders. I wish more people with a platform like yours would educate on this topic. I've seen lots of folks go out and spend a ton of money on a big bike only to find out it was a bad decision.
Picked up a 2018 Tiger XRt recently and aside from picking up a nail in the rear tire and replacing the battery it has been a great bike so far over the last 1000 miles. I’d be interested in seeing the difference between the XC and XR lineups and if one is better over the other. Great list!
what if we wanna start with a classic? a 1990s super tenere (750) or an africa twin rd03 or rd04?
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your help in finding my first dual sport bike. After researching a ton, I found your channel, and it was very helpful. Being a fellow Oregonian and short, the Yamha XT 250 was my bike of choice. It has been a great choice. I love it. Thanks.
I'm 6' 5" tall with a 36" inseam & weigh 280lbs. Which ADV do you think I should get?
Loved 800 XCx. Never let me down and took me through swamps and deserts.
I've never had an issue with my 2018 Tiger 800 XCa. I have almost 30,000 miles on it. Love it.
Several years back I owned a new VStrom 650 which put me in hospital following a tank slap on moderate rubble. Coincidentally, a highly experienced off-road rider friend, got tankslapped into hospital on a VStrom 650 at the same time in outback Queensland (Australia). VStrom may be a very comfortable cruising road bike, but is NOT an off-road bike.
Just found your channel. Great stuff - knowledge with entertainment
Dude. I'm 73. Hard to pick anything up. Lol.
series question, would you recommend a tiger 900 rally pro for somebody whos never owned a bike before? I've ben looking at bikes recently and cant take my eyes of the tiger 900.
My bike was an honda elsinore 250 .it went up steep pipelines and through rough trails don't know how well these big bikes would do where I used to ride ?
