In February of 2023 two friends and I set out on the biggest adventure of our lives - riding off road motorcycles from LA to the southern tip of South America, riding one month per year until we get there. This film follows the first leg of our journey from LA to the border of Guatemala through Saguaro filled forests, deserted Baja coastlines and passes between 17000 ft mountains. This film is a passion project created by Jonah Levine and myself. It's entirely self funded and we've put countless hours into making it a reality. If you liked the film it would mean the world to us if you shared it with someone you think would enjoy it :) Film created by Jonah Levine and Danny McGee Jonah Levine - https://www.instagram.com/jonah_levine Danny McGee - https://www.instagram.com/mcgee Featuring Jesse Evers, who’s navigation and mechanic skills made the trip possible https://www.instagram.com/jesse.evers Huge thanks to our sponsors for supporting us REVIT - https://www.revitsport.com/ MOSKO MOTO - https://moskomoto.com/ GPX tracks - https://data.jesseevers.com/index.html#GPX-tracks/ GEAR WE USED Cameras Sony A7s III (main video cam) - https://amzn.to/3XryAqr Sony A7IV ( Backup + photo cam) - https://amzn.to/4irMqRM Lenses Tamron 28-75 - https://amzn.to/3F9NOdg Zeiss 16-35 - https://amzn.to/3XtuQo8 Sony 85 1.8 - https://amzn.to/4iqpHVX Tamron 35-150 - https://amzn.to/3DjYNQR Drones DJI Mavic 3 Pro - https://click.dji.com/AFhbe_26dTPhR6dgVT6Auw?pm=custom DJI Mini 4 - https://click.dji.com/AG8rpRD7eQY_qeZsYOBu-g?pm=link Misc GoPro 13 - https://prf.hn/l/Vx8nd3k GoPro Max 360 Cam - https://amzn.to/4bqStDT Zhiyun Crane 2 Gimbal - https://amzn.to/4broTxX DJI Wireless Mic - https://amzn.to/41vQEkg Rode VideoMicro - https://amzn.to/43nQCO0 DJI Avata 2 (with mounted Go Pro) - https://bit.ly/3W25psh Freewell/Polar Pro ND filters (for cams and drones) Ulanzi Zero F38 travel tripod For business enquires contact me here: [email protected]

Best trip of my life with some of my best friends. Hope you have as much fun watching this film as Danny and I had making it 🤘🏼
Well guys let me start by saying I am a youngish 67 year old man. I'm sitting here in my recliner in Tennessee, my wife is visiting the grandkids in Colorado until tomorrow. Been kinda quiet and lonely for 10 days. Watched a lot of YouTube as you might imagine! This evening I stumbled on your journey and sat here and watched your whole amazing journey! So awesome, I would have loved to have done something like this when I was young! To do it with your best friends like y'all did is so special. Cherish those friends and memories. All my friends from back in the good old days are dead and gone. you are so lucky. Thanks for taking me along on your journey this evening. I lived it vicariously through you guys, every flat tire, every broken strap, shifter or whatever! You guys handled it all with skill and grace! Bless you all, Now I'm going to look at your channel and see what else you're up to. I just wanted to put this into words before I do anything else. I just finished watching and have the credits paused on my screen. Thanks again Andrew
It’s crazy to me that this isn’t super viral. The level of production and quality of this film is better than Netflix and Prime productions.
One of, if not the best, motorcycle adventure travel films I've seen in quite some time. Excellent cinematography and narration.
what a wonderful video, I'm 16 and I'm from mexico, you don't know how inspiring it is to see content like this, it motivates me to explore my own country, soon I will buy my first motorcycle and start adventuring around mexico. greetings from morelos! central mexico
HOW THIS EPIC FILM DOES NOT HAVE MILLIONS OF VIEWS IS BEYOND ME
Southbound is an almost entirely self-funded series that we LOVE making, and it truly means the world to us that you took the time to watch. We spend hundreds and hundreds of hours editing each episode and being able to share our adventures with the world is the most rewarding feeling ever. Since this series is a passion project, most of the expenses from the trips and films come out of our pockets… so we lose thousands of dollars on each episode. A few people have asked how they can support the series so we've set up a donation page if you want to help fund future episodes. If you got any enjoyment out of the series, even a small donation goes a long way towards making it possible for us to keep em coming :) Support link - /southbound
Truly the sickest journey I've ever gotten to be part of...y'all did an incredible job, and it blows me away to see the story of the trip told like this 🖤🖤
Holy shit, I was in San Felipe and met you 3 changing that tire on the intersection at 1:27. I was on the GS and my buddy on a XR650. This movie is so sick!
And the Oscar for best supporting actor goes to… The Pillow!!!!
Wow, you guys are my hero’s ! How is this not on Netflix 😍🤩
I just cannot believe that I watched a film like that on Youtube on a random afternoon without knowing about it or paying for it. That was absolutely stunning! Amazing journey and super chill guys
Every once in awhile the algorithm does you a favor. Fucken blown away boys... journey of a lifetime. Reminds of trips with the boys way back in the day. Looking forward to the rest of the trip.
Watched it again just for the pillow
The REAL Mexico and all it's beauty. Dream trip right here.
How does this only have 251K views???? The quality of this is insane. Algorithm, please do your magic 🙏
Well done gents. As a adventurer myself, best documentary of a motorcycle trip I have seen since C90 Adventures lol. Impressed.
So pumped YouTube recommended your channel. Incredible work, dude!
Just wanted to say this is one of the best adventures I have seen in a long time. It took me back to when I was in my young 20s (now mid 30s). I had a group of three best buddies who did many trips like this before YouTube was really a place for high quality adventures. I wish had documented our adventures beyond a few grainy pictures because I have since lost my best friend and the other lives pretty far from me… I still go on big adventures each year and plan to never stop, but I go solo now. I miss my pack. If you ever want to go on an east coast adventure, I would be happy to be a guide. I am doing the NEBDR again soon, it’s a super cool Moto trip with some unique locations! Love your story telling and cinematography, keep it up!!
This is actually the first video I've seen on your channel and this encapsulated everything it feels like to take a road trip with friends or family. The storytelling, the scenery... if you've ever taken a trip like this before this was a nostalgia trip right to the brain. This is the type of trip that you'll be sharing stories of when you're old and sharing wisdom with the next generation. It's absolutely special that you have the tools and skills needed to capture it in this fashion so you can go back and revisit this whenever you want down the road.
