Porsche 911 GT3 vs Chevy Corvette Z06 | On-road & Track Tested

I have both cars, the C8 Z06 american spec 670hp is faster than the GT3 on track with sticky tires. It also sounds nicer again with the american center quad exhaust. The C8 Z06 is at least 1 second faster than a GT3 both running Cup2Rs tires on a 2 minute lap time. Putting the 4S tires on the Z06, it loses 4 seconds around the same race track which is massive. The problem with the C8 Z06 is the limited tires they have available and those tires can do 1-2 laps peak grip and start losing grip fast. Usually i lose around 2 seconds on the Cup2R after 4 laps, it just goes away. The GT3 on the other hand treat its tires better, can still maintain laps within 1 second after 10 laps on the same tire. So one lap qualifying the Z06 is faster, but after 12-15 laps on the same tire the GT3 will most likely post similar times or even slightly faster than the Vette. Another factors between the two cars, the Porsche steering and brake feel wins, especially the brakes where it gives you confidence telling you when you get in ABS or not. The Z06 brake feel is compromised and i wish GM work on making then communicate better through the pedal instead of looking for ABS pulsing from a dash light. Between the two, if I’m thinking GT3 PDK not manual, i would always pick the C8 Z06 over the PDK GT3. If I’m looking for the best manual sports car, then there is only one choice, the GT3.

Porsche biased reviewers always do this . The C8 Z06 in this video isn't a track focused variant. If you're going to be this disingenuous, stop doing corvette comparisons and just stick with what you love . Be a true Porsche lover and stop trying to make other brands look as bad as possible for no apparent reason.

The Z06 makes 670 hp in North America and 636 hp everywhere else. And it sounds so muted with those gpf filters. You guys got robbed.

4:04 the corvette is on street tires and the Porsche is on Track tires? If you're going for the track focussed Porsche why not go for the Track focussed Corvette? This might not even be a Z07 package and might only have the top carbon aero without the underbody aero and stiffer suspension

BS comparison. Why not compare with the Z07 package equipped car? That would have been a more even spec for the cars.

What a bunk review. I've driven both on track and the corvette is quicker. In a straight line the corvette dog walks the gt3, it's not close. I own neither and have no skin in the game

Z06 wins the wow factor......and that engine is an absolute beast.

What is the point of this comparison? To show you that USD$100,000 gets you a nicer car? I checked the pricing of the 2026 Porsche 911 GT3 (USD $235,800) against the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 3LT (USD$138,000) and I noticed you mentioned the Porsche had track tires, while the tested vette had street tires. So I was really just left confused and wondering why you would match these cars up against each other? Meanwhile the Corvette ZR1 with 1,250hp is priced starting at $220,000 USD. If you want less understeer on the ZR1, you could go up to the ZR1X with the electric on the front wheels and still be very near the 911's price. It is a disservice to your viewers to treat the Z06 as a direct competitor to the Porsche.

So Australia also get's reduced hp in the Z06 relative to the US....

Why compare sports cars that differ in price by 2X ?

Typical video -- street tires on the American car and track tires on the European car. These two cars have already been tested head to head in a number of tracks in the USA. Fit them with equal tires and equal track configurations and the Corvette generally wins. This is comparison is not real world accurate IMO.

So for $100k more in my pocket, I could get decent rubber, be (slightly) quicker to 100kmph and probably about the same time around a track…. Sounds good, but resale value may come into play. The 911 GT3 could end up being worth more than $100k than the Vette when time comes to move onto something else??? First world problems huh. 😅 Me, I’d have the 911 GT3. Actually, scratch that, for the money, I’d have a 911 GTS and then buy a dedicated track car with the balance.

So... You can get the Z06 on Cup 2Rs... Which would've been on the same tire as the Porsche. That tire alone is worth the difference in time

Another disrespectful to American cars and misleading European Porsche reviewer. USA version of Z06 with z07 beats GT3 without a doubt on all the tracks and drag race. GT3 RS is superior most of the time on tracks but Z06 can even beats GT3 RS on some tracks.

How do you do a track comparison with vastly different tires???

Why would you test Z06 with street tire vs GT3 track focused car with cup tires on timed test? Why not Z07 track focused Z06? So typical

Did you use launch control on the C8? Your time was SLOW! Did you set the performance mode to Track 2? I would never buy an expensive sports car. I DID buy an incredible C8 Stingray, and am shocked by how incredible a street monster it is.

Yeah, this is not apples to apples. You should have used a standard GT3 or used a proper Z06 with Z07 against the GT3RS. Also, the GT3RS is not even being built in 2026.
