In Example #9 from Chesterfield, Virginia, the POV driver was failing to Keep Right Except To Pass. Lane 2 is an overtaking lane, not "his lane." American drivers have a bad habit of selecting a lane and then driving at some arbitrary speed until they need an exit. The POV driver should have been in Lane 3. In Example #16, exits belong on the right side of the highway in a drive-right country. Improper Left Exits are confusing and dangerous for drivers, and violate Keep Right Except To Pass.

I was hit by a driver that had no insurance their car was fine and then when we were waiting another vehicle that had insurance hit me. I decided to go after the car with insurance because they did about $20,000 of damage to the other car. My car needed a new brake light. I won $20,000 for some made up reason in the court case that the driver actually paid. I gave it to the other driver that didn’t have insurance.

Would the extra 17mph (or approximately 50 percent over the limit) have had any contribution - yes, extremely poor driving by the other car, however driving to the speed limit should have been reduced braking distance, reaction timing and overall severity of the crash.
