In Example #1 from Longs, South Carolina, what do you mean, "Route 9 South, Wilmington, Exit Only?" You can't make the right lane of the highway disappear like that! The POV driver likely knew what to do and was coasting in Lane 2, slowly passing the car in Lane 3, when the driver in Lane 3 panicked and tried to escape the Disappearing Lane. The car in Lane 1 was also failing to Keep Right Except To Pass as the POV driver was slowly undertaking, and the result could have been some costly damages as the Ford Bronco crashed into the POV driver and the POV driver crashed into the Mercedes, and all because of a Disappearing Lane. The right lane of a limited-access highway should never end. The exit for Route 9 should be a proper exit lane that opens at a predictable distance from Route 9, and traffic that wants Route 9 would then move into that exit lane. Keep Right Except To Pass! Stop undertaking!
