the part where the detective takes off with the gifted car makes no sense, the car is not registered to him, if he gets caught driving it and records show it belongs to the guy from the DNA he is done. also, what about the DNA sample ? it does not match the dead thief so how can he say it is the 101 thief? nice movie but too many holes

I watched this movie because of the office the charts sexual chemistry between Hemsworth and monica. I'm a man and I'd go out with Hemsworth

A watchable film. I do not ecpect much more from American crime movies. As a former criminsal myself no one just walks out on a partner. Too much common knowledge. No Police give you a break like Helmsworth got. No billionaires do without body guards.. Halle look so good still. Ruffalo always play Police ? So good in " Zodiac ". Kudos to Keoghan....how did hekeep that thick Irish accent under control? See " Banshee of Inshesherin". Most Am erican crime films like comic books ( most Mar vel films are are a crime againt adult mentalities) haha No sublety, impossible shortcuts and way too much overt violence. Lowest common denominator movies.

This will be long there was a lot going on. The theme here is someone hearing you and seeing you. Start with the bag Lou gives to Sharon. It’s the diamonds Lou lifted from the suitcase during the commotion. Remember back to the opening scene where there was 3 million in diamonds in the paper, well Sharon was expecting 3 million from James for info on the heist, and that’s why Lou showed us the diamonds in a paper on the bus so our minds would connect the dollar amount back to the opening scene. Why would Lou do this. Because Sharon is in the same spot he is. Unappreciated and unseen in their lives and he recognizes it. Despite being extremely good at what they do, they have outgrown their usefulness to the people above them and around them. The people they thought they could count on most. Lou in his marriage and work even his partner and Sharon at her work, which is basically her life. He was the one she went to after getting roughed up and told him everything. Trusted him. Lou says she can stay at his apartment because she will be “safe there”. This is what Sharon needs. Someone to give a crap enough to help her be safe. In the hotel room crooked Tate Donovan character says multiple times “you’re a cop, shoot him” just to accentuate the crooked people of the world get what they want, but not from Lou. He isn’t that type of cop unlike his colleagues. So what does the car at the end mean. First, that james heard him. He said he liked the old cars on the limbo ride with James, but he never got that old mustang. It’s a symbol. It’s recognition for giving James his second chance, he told Maya he would take if he could. He got that. When James told Lou, “ i didn’t want to shoot him but he was going to shoot you” (paraphrasing) Lou’s response was, “I know”. James is seen by Lou the cop. He didn’t just shoot James when he could have and is telling James he knows James isn’t a violent man. Even Lou taking the gun from James. He’s telling him I know you’re not going to shoot me. Why does Lou take the car and react the way he does. It means freedom to him. Freedom to not always toeing the line to his own detriment. He feels alive again, and like he still has life in him for what is probably the first time in a long time. For James and his relationship with Maya. In the beginning, James meets with a high class sex worker and although the woman is gorgeous, he is disappointed the woman he usually meets with was not available. Even though he was paying, he felt more connected to her because of their regular meeting. He longs for that human connection because of his upbringing and jumping from foster homes makes children lose trust in people and the world. He longs to be different and connect, but doesn’t know how. You can figure out the Maya thing from there. For those wondering if he gets back together with her, he does. He says he hopes it’s not too late and shares a moment from his past in the pic symbolizing he is ready to share, and she goes to look for him which means it isn’t too late. Everyone gets what they need even if they didn’t know they needed it. There is so much more if you look at it from that angle, but I won’t go on other than to say it’s about people being pushed aside and not cared for. That’s why we see multiple scenes with homeless people. To make the connection between them and people who seem to live normal lives can feel pushed aside and unseen or cared for by the people around them. But everyone in this move ends with a piece of what they need.

My problem with the movie was that there were too many sub stories going on and sub characters who became main characters. And main characters who became sub characters with too many storylines going on. I think if the movie had focused on the Hemsworth/Ruffalo characters not on the second robber or I thought the Halle Berry character had value to the story but there were too many swings in her storyline. Overall, this movie needed to focus on one direction of the story for the two main actors and allow their stories to lead the movie.

What did Lou give Sharon that he told her not to open it? Diamonds? How did he hold on to them without the billionaire noticing they were missing?

I didn't really get the ending I thought they were all going to know each other but they didn't and he went back to LA I thought he was going to Mexico but he turned around and why is the officer helping her out so much He let her stand at his spot gave her all those diamonds It's crazy... And the part I really didn't get is how he met his girl when she ran into him at the red light they were at a red light for a long time and it was three cars ahead of him stopped and she out of nowhere just rear ends him come on 🤦🏾‍♂️ that look like it was a set up like she was going to play him or something but she didn't I didn't understand that

The script was superb.. Best lines of the movie James Davis: (to Det. Lou Lubesnick) Hey, big guy. Sun's getting real low. I don't want to hurt you anymore. James: Hey, hey! We know each other! He's a friend from work! Where have you been?

This youtube video is terrible talking about ending explained it and it explained nothing. Did the cop take the diamonds, or did the thief take them and give them to him put them in his pocket or something, why did the thief give him the car, how did the diamonds just go missing, all the forensic evidence would have proved the guy got shot in the back how would the detective explain that away not to mention both eye witnesses would have to lie. How would the cop move the stolen diamonds, was the cop a bad guy in the end? Why did he let the thief go, I mean the guy was still a bad guy he traumatized his victims? I thought the movie was terrible, His character is extremely cautious, they mention the contact lenses he bailed on his next job because a gut feeling, he try's to avoid any contact about the accident he had, there is even a cop that drives I feel he almost as an omen for remember be cautious. From here the amount of things that he ignores and continues to commit to doing the heist makes no sense. It starts with the car accident, giving out his information, going out with her, inviting her back to his place, he finds out his handler betrayed him and messed up a job he planned out, his handler makes indirect threats towards him, he finds out he was being followed, he gambles talking to hopefully the insurance person to become informant, he finds out the person following him knows about his informant and him and where he is living, he comes in contact and a physical confrontation with the person following him and let's him go, the detective comes in contact with him after going to his moms house and talks with him on the phone, it keeps going anyone of these things happening a guy like this would not have risked doing the job he was already skeptical about a previous job which he bailed on and had no red flags just a gut feeling and this job had like 30 in your face red flags and he still try to do it.

I enjoyed the movie - it had a bit of drive (gosling) in it and by times it felt like LA, GTA, which then made me think about how much i love Michael Mann's Heat and that it is such a shame that that level of craftsmanship so scarse. But the movie is good. Less sophisticated in terms of camera and color and use of sound then Drive. less realstic and less plot driven then Heat. But if you like i love these movies, this is one to watch. only thing is - being the pro that he is - bro should have handled the DNA problem in the car. I hate it when a script (that car and DNA was later found, leading to an important plotpoint) is more important then that what a character would realistically do. If he would have handled the DNA, bro would not be found. Then there would be no movie. This is why this movie never makes it to the level of Drive or Heat, because these movies are all very character driven, the choices these characters - and thus the writers - make feel realistic, pragmatic and they feed the plot. This is the other way around. Too bad. none the less a great movie

Ngl I really liked it, it’s overhated for the wrong reasons. I think most of the people who watched this movie have the attention span of a 3 year old. The cinematography pairs well with its slow burn. It is a heist movie but when it wants to be thrilling it will be. Honestly I think it’s highly misunderstood.
