My favorite theory is that Evy is actually the only one in the whole movie. That Jessa and Mike is actually her and her ex. That Evy actually suffered a miscarriage, or child death, and left "Mike", going back to her mom's house. That her mom has actually been dead, and was dying during her struggles with her original pregnancy and miscarriage, and that the whole movie is just her making up the podcast during her descent into madness. Eventually killing herself.
Great take. This is the closest explanation I've been able to find, but I think it has a slightly different meaning in some ways. I feel like it's trying to demonstrate that she manifested everything, including the demon, from her increasingly crushing Catholic guilt, and furthermore, it implies that all demons and evil comes from within people - not an outside source - from the intense beliefs, faith, and guilt that is instilled through generations of people following a religion. The final straw is the fear that by not praying with her mom, she caused her to suffer and die, and everything is happening to her because she's a Bad Catholic.
I believe the entity was real. There were many supernatural occurrences that happened that Evie didn't witness but the viewer did. Which kind of null and voids all her supernatural experiences being due to psychosis.

Still love the first audio part you hear that is in the ending. Or the first time she hears it in her dreams especially it sounds so good and creepy. Loved it.

Movie had so much promise and moments of brilliance but fell flat for me.
93 minutes of watching one character listen to audio files is too long and boring. I liked the premise ans plot but it was poorly executed visually. Yes the audio was super creepy and done well but, it wasn't enough for me to say I loved this movie. I fell asleep twice and the ending wasn't the big finale I expected. The movie could have been filmed in a half hour and would have been better. It feels like they really tried to drag it out.
