My DM gave us the scenario for The Ones Who walk from Omalas as a side quest. I enjoyed it, but there was a third ending for us, with basically mercy killing the child and dusting the rest of the village.

On the Beach reminds me of the show "Carol and the end of the World" where another planet is on a collision course to earth and there is nothing anyone can do so everyone on earth just live their lives to the fullest, except the protagonist Carol and some other characters who prefer to live life like it just was, going to their normal cubicle office job
