WUTHERING HEIGHTS Review, Deeper Meaning & Ending Explained

Film and Animation

I review, breakdown and explain Wuthering Heights. I give my reaction to the 2026 movie which stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi as Catherine and Heathcliff. I discuss the ending to the film, the differences between the movie and the Emile Bronte book from 1847, the deeper meaning of Cathy's death, what happened after Cathy's death and the symbolism of what it really means. I analyse the backlash of the film and why it's considered to be bad. 00:00 Intro 00:49 Wuthering Heights Review 06:06 What Did Cathy Say To Nelly? 07:30 Wuthering Heights Ending Explained 09:26 Outro Subscribe for more videos like this! If only somebody loved Nelly…

I just watched this movie for the 2nd time and I love it; Heathcliff is gorgeous and so strong and yet so loving with Cathy. I thought Cathy didn't deserve him.. She had an amazing life and didn't want to give it up for him. Yet she still wanted him so much she died for it. I think she gave herself an abortion knowing that her pregnancy was a big part of losing him. And her father was a worthless alcoholic. Who did Nelly love? I think she also loved Heathcliff. There was no one else there, was there? I bought it and will buy other version as well. Loved it.

Got to watch it with the missus and I would argue that this movie doesn’t feel like a love story, but a story about desire with some really weird Freudian undertones. The opening scene is pretty much a really crude but kinda effective statement that we’re going to see characters driven by deep impulses rather than reason and morals.

I never read the book or knew about it and just watched the movie. I don't think I liked it 😬

I watched this yesterday and haven’t read the book. I thought she couldn’t leave Edgar otherwise she would be hung due to adultery, which was what I thought was going to happen all along, because all the sinners day at the beginning of the film. If she were able to leave with him… Heathcliff was rich, she wouldn’t lose any status right? Like I’m sure he was not Linton rich but still… what a headache 😅

You call what was happening between Cathy and Heathcliff LOVE????!??? That was not love.... that was sociopathic narcissism by Cathy and Masochism by Heathcliff.

i think expecting films to match books to a T is something people need to LET GO OF. it quite clearly states its a re-imagining... that being said, I'm sure the book is incredible and i will definitely read it now. I still think the film, had you ever experienced true heart break...that "tediousness" does feel that way. going through day after day wanting things to change but they never do. the stabbing at each other over and over. its a painful truth a lot of people experience. toxic but they'd probably say it's passionate. so good film imo.

I loved this loosely based version. You have to separate the book from the movie.

Heathcliff treated Isabella as he felt Catherine had treated him. And Catherine leaving Edgar, pregnant, just wasn’t done in those times. Heathcliff came back rich, money wasn’t what kept her from going to be with him.
