This movie sucked!
You didn’t explain, just literally told the story
you didn’t watch the film did you
The skull is a goat skull.
I don’t think it can be assumed the Conquistador and boy are fathers and son. It is hinted that they don’t even speak entirely the same language.
13:13 he is absolutely NOT protected, he never finished the circle and is shackled lmao. close, but the "tight circle" analysis doesnt really work since its just a plot device at this point
Bro, you’re amazing as always.
For me it was definitely a good horror film. Tense and mysterious throughout. Sound design and atmosphere was excellent and eerie. One jump scare got me good. The other ones weren't bad but they didn't really make me jump. The ending had some inconsistencies that took it down a little bit but not a bad ending. It had a conclusion unlike some horror movies. I feel like all the Jack rabbit/donkey stuff was in his mind as a result of him tripping and processing his grief but the witch and ghost of his mom were real. I give it a 14.5 out of 16 &
interesting first 30 sec of vidoe, but i had to shut it off because you insist on flashbanging me with a white background. oh well.
Thank you! I can't do horror films, I'm sorry, but I was intrigued by the general premise of the movie so I started watching this video to get the gist and decide if I wanted to watch the movie or not, and I ended up watching the whole video. I know that I've spoiled the entire story for myself, but you might be surprised to learn I'm actually more open to watching the movie now. I understand the ways in which it's going to be scary (not everyone is scared by the same things and therefore not everyone is going to find every horror movie scary), and even though I think this is the type of horror film that will probably frighten me and cause me sleepless nights, I think I'll find it easier to sit through it with this overall view of what's going on in the movie. I don't do this for every movie, only horror films usually (I am the type of person who has night terrors if I get frightened enough, and I find that so unpleasant). Thanks again for this video, I will give the movie a go and try to experience how the story is told.
Now that I think about it, didn’t the conquistador have a helmet he could have used?
The TV donkey guy was legit scarier than anything else in the movie
Just got done watching Hokum and my husband mentioned the elevator in the movie and how it could of been a nod to Severance. Man I can't wait for that show to come back!
Just watched it. 6/10. Wasn't terrible but it tried a bit too hard.
As always, a great analysis
I saw it last night, one of the few movies that's ever genuinely scared me. It's also beautifully filmed and the atmosphere is perfect.
Can you do Caveat, please!!
Though I know it wasn't the focus of the film, I failed to understand the antagonist's motivation for murdering his co-worker. Did I miss a segment of the film where that's explained or is he just a weirdo?
Interesting aspect is that Ohm's name sounds the same as Ogham- the first alphabet the Irish language (Gaeilge) was written in. The witches realm in the basement is covered in Ogham towards the end of the film.
To me, all the hauntings in the honeymoon suite with Fiona and his mom are due to the spiked drink, but the witch and everything that happens in the basement is real. That's why the shackle marks are there, and Mal is really missing.
