Just got back from the theater. This was the best movie I've seen in a LONG time.
Rare case scenario, when the movie is actually as good as book, if not better. It adds to it with amazing visuals and imagination.
This is one of, if not the best movie I've ever seen. I watched it with my two teenage sons - I don't remember a single curse word and the movie was so great! I had to explain to them the Close Encounters of the Third Kind easter egg with the musical tones. And I realized the end of this movie was very similar to the end of The Martian, with both main characters teaching a classroom!
I saw Project Hail Mary yesterday. The movie is beautifully filmed. Ryan Gosling's acting is excellent. The story took me on an emotional rollercoaster. I cried, I laughed but what I most got out of it, was a profound sense of hope for humanity. This is the perfect movie at the perfect time. With all the craziness that is going on in our world right now, with so much hate, war and fear, it is truly refreshing to see how two completely different beings from two totally different planets, are willing to work together for the greater good, despite their differences. Their relationship reaches a point where they become best friends, and each one is willing to sacrifice their own life in order to save their friend's life. We can learn a lot from these characters. Even though our nationalities, ethnicity, culture, skin color, ideals and lifestyles may be different, imagine all the possibilities and all the great things we can accomplish together, if we just put away our petty differences. Because deep down inside, all human beings are essentially the same. Would I get onboard this mission if faced with such adverse possibilities? The answer is an absolute yes. Sooner or later, I am going to die anyway. So why not go out with a bang. Who knows, in the process, I might become the savior of humanity. And there is no bigger honor than that!

This movie had it all. I laughed, I cried, I cheered, I sat at the edge of my seat, this is a laugh out loud heart warming dramatic movie. And the big plus they figured out how to actually travel into space by discovering a fuel source that as everyone knows makes it impossible to ever find life on another planet so it made it believable for you the real geeks that would say it’s impossible to travel that far. I loved the relationship with Ricky and I loved that Grace is smart and loved by his students but really has no one to be brave for. Until he meets Rocky!
Been a long time since I sat and chuckled for 2 delicious hours (and held my breath through the exciting bits) . . . this delightful movie was like therapy for me. Without doubt, it is the BEST movie that I have seen in decades . . . . LOVED this thought-provoking, heart-opening, and wonderful experience!

One of the best book-movie adaptations I’ve ever seen. Ryan Gosling was superb, and Rocky was a delight.
Rocky needs to get an Oscar
I read the book when it came out (and then several times again), and I was always trying to imagine how they would make a movie about it. I was also scared a movie would ruin it. They did a great job. Many things change from the book, but for good, cinematic reasons, and none altering substantially the spirit of what I think is one of the best sci-fi stories from the last decades.
