I think that what Rachel did (she actually carried it out) is way worse than what Emma did (she didn't carry it out, she just planned it).

Throughout the whole movie, the maid of honor, Rachel made me want to smack her constantly with her over the top reactions and honestly pretty self-centered and aggressive behavior

Um, everyone else is trash, except for Emma. Emma did not act, everyone else did the low moral thing.

We judge others by their actions and ourselves by our intent . It’s not that one persons evil was more evil, it’s the fact that we can justify our own evils while looking down our noses at someone else’s. It calls us to empathy and grace

The movie seems layered with class, gender and race based upon drama of how the wte characters followed through with their dramas. And the black woman who is deeply and mentally distraught moved her drama into positive actions. Shows how double standards of culture and race with other hidden issues of the potential groom seems worthy to watch. Drama, is race, gender and class explained in a modern film.

I loved the layered perspectives the film was informing through its subtext. It’s clearly against gun violence while also adding a dimension on people wanting to punish the ‘shooter’ while also showing the cost of “what if someone who you love deeply almost did the act itself.” perspective. It played with my own morals as well and upped the “would you love me if I were a worm?” statement to the highest extreme. I loved the photo shoot scene. The abrupt cut going into the scene with the shooting jokes along with the camera flashes echoing gunshots had me dying with laughing in the cinema. 😂 The ending was perfect. I didn’t get it immediately but when I left the theatre I remembered how Charlie has always praised Emma’s empathy throughout even when he wavered saying it. The second chance she gave Charlie, because she believes people are better they’re worst mistakes made The Drama a really good movie for me. I can’t wait to read the script when it gets released by A24.

My kind of film, thoughtful, provocative, well-acted and directed. I went in knowing nothing, so it was a welcomed surprise. The four main characters were excellent.

I think the last conversation was possibly imagined by Charlie based on earlier scenes that had been imagined and didn't really happen but seemed like they did due to the editing. Just one possibility!

I remember once being told in church that thinking of doing something bad, a sin was as bad as actually committing it. I totally disagreed. I still do. I also think it’s a dangerous thing to believe. A certain amount of people who think that way will torture themselves for a thought or desire while some will outright think if they are already doomed they may as well go the whole way. The fact we all have intrusive thoughts, but especially in dark times doesn’t mean you would ever act on them. While Emma “practiced” is definitely worrying we will never know if she really would have done it.

When I walked out of the movie theatre there were some girls saying that if it was the guy who thought of the shooting he wouldn’t be forgiving so I thought yes the movie made me feel like concern cuz everyone makes mistakes and everybody deserves forgiveness specially if their actions showed that they were willing to change but I think the movie made the person to question a woman so that we would have more empathy if it was Robert’s carácter the movie would have ended sooner me thinks

Rachels story was bad because she did it! I didnt like rachel but i loved emma because she redeemed herself and was able to give second chances

It is actually comical that Rachel created the drama by opening the floor and then kept the stage going. What she did was true evil and is the puppeteer of all this mess.

for me the reason to see this is an unforgettable performance by Robert Pattinson & a solid performance by Zendaya, I found the supporting performances weak & the script often slow paced and repetitive,.. The tone of the film wasn't clear and often meandered. But Robert Pattinson & Zendaya make it worth a visit imo.

These films are stupid and there sooooo many of them… About nothing, literally. But the analysis is magnificent. Thank you to the author of video ❤

Boring weak movie

Have you seen A24's The Drama, and if so, what were your thoughts on the twist, the ending and the film as a whole?

Provocative and unsettling. Still chewing on it even after watching this informative YouTube clip. Charlie went through more than anyone and that was evident by the look of his face at the end. Not sure if I will recommend this to my 30 year-old daughter who lives with her boyfriend.
