Definitely not as good as I had hoped but it was solid. Creepy, atmospheric and awesome cinematography. The creepiness and sense of dread was pulled off well and that finale was solid if very confusing
"92% certain that nikky is her soulmate, thats 7% of doubt" - Math aint mathing
First red flag I caught was Nicky not believing her about the dress, and how we went back to get it, despite her dramatically saying she brought it and what not. They were definitely not soul mates
That ending song We will not be lovers was the cherry on top
Kinda surprising that no one is questioning the fact that for generations and generations and generations, every descendant of the cursed bloodline had a child out of wedlock. No?
I think the most crazy, and interesting, part about this serie is how you are fooled at the beggining thinking this is another "Get out" look alike story.
Just finished binging this. Jules was the standout for me. He has the perfect disposition for horror
Love it, love it, love it! A spicy quesadilla is nothing compared to the fun of seeing people with much bigger problems than mine hilariously trying to function.
I liked the bait and switch. At the beginning, you think that it’s the Cunningham family that is going to be messed up and kill her somehow, like after seeing the ritual book. Then it twists and it’s actually her who’s technically bringing a threat to them. Good show
I was so confused like if the curse had passed on to Cunningham family then why did Rachel die after Nikey put the ring on her .. and if Rachel is not his soulmate then why didn’t Nikey die ( since the curse had already passed on to the Cunningham family ) .. it was a bit confusing at the end
I was creeped out by Jules at the start for a bit but then I QUICKLY absolutely adored that man.
Loved this show!! The actress was so good and carried the show! Jules was a great character too. Weirdly I loved Portia’s character too! All in all the duffer brothers and thr team delivered yet another masterpiece! 💪🏽🔥
The last episode was such a ragebait. Nicky literally did everything he was asked not to do. When she told him, she doesn't wanna marry, he proposed. When she agreed and was at the fucking altar and had already said yes to the marriage, he suddenly, out of nowhere, refused to get married. Then after that whole ass argument, when she said now she doesn't wanna marry him, he wants to marry now. BRO WHY ARE YOU SO WALNUT BRAINED?!!!
This was such a good show literally had chills when it ended . So well written well acted . The symbolism in it was insane .
I actually got invested in the show because of Nellie and Jules. I liked how they contrasted all the cosmic soulmate stuff by demonstrating what a real relationship is built on -supporting each other, sticking together, and being honest even when it hurts. It seems negative at first, but as Rachel's opinion of them shifts, so does the viewer's. They were ride or die for Rachel, and helping her made them realise how much they truly loved and complemented each other.
Season 2 should be the little boy that she said “remember this happened no matter what others tell you” and he’s grown up in his 20s. Starts off with him in a romance and engaged. He doesn’t remember or thinks he made it up and it was all a gas leak ect. His parents either hide the truth from him or passed away in some car accident ect. Then an episode or so in he figures it out and meets Rachel
One thing i dont understand - why was rachel condemned to being the new witness? The original witness decided ultimately to not wed marianne, whereas rachel was the one left on the altar. Or was it because she said no afterwards, in the room?
The twists you have with this series is incredible. It keeps you guessing. When Rachel was bleeding, I thought she was gonna drink that crap, which will revive her. I almost want to throw at screen when they were all like 'forcing the marriage' at the end, and she started bleeding.
I like how they made you think it was another "get out" but then completely flipped that on its head.
i love Victoria Pedretti in haunting of hill house as nell, she plays rachels mom in this show and this is an instant classic already :D
