personally, i thought it would've done way better as a shorter film

I clicked on this video expecting to learn about a new horror movie, then realized I actually went and saw this in theaters and promptly forgot about it

any movie that says it's "the x movie ever" for any genre NEVER delivers on that promise.

So, to sum up, an American gets haunted & possesed by the Middle Eastern version of La Llarona via mp3 files sent to England

The cinematography, sound, and acting were great, but the last 3rd left me wanting a lot more

Should’ve been called “underwhelming”

When I first saw this movie I interpreted her drinking after finding out she’s pregnant and her seemingly scheduling an abortion as something like an unknowing sacrifice to Abyzou. Her not wanting the baby causing Abyzou to basically swoop in and take it for herself. It feeds into that idea of those nursery rhymes not being just about kids dying, but kids suffering because of the actions of adults. I also at first assumed that Justin was in on the audio tapes and somehow knew that Evy was pregnant and wanted to make a sacrifice to Abyzou. This can be why he was so insistent that they kept going and that she chanted the “Come In Abyzou” line

Ps the film is from Canada and I had my doctor call me at midnight once with test results lol

"Children pay for the sins of their parents." I think the takeaway was that the baby was paying for the sins of Eevee, dying to the demon before even having a chance at life. The demon is essentially saying "you took your moms life, now your babys life is forefit" or something like that.

This was so bad that they actually named the main character after her microphone, EV.

The trailer said it was the scariest horror movie of the year and I figured that Hollywood was over hyping the movie to compete with iron lung. Good to know I was right

I think the saying does make sense, as her unborn child is paying for her sins

interesting premise but the end where she yells "trace the call!" exemplifies all that's wrong with the script
