You've reached the end
I can only imagine the worst call to ever get as a member of any law enforcement is to handle a school shooting.
These cops are infinitely braver than the cops who stood around and did nothing in Uvdale.
I remember hearing that the worst thing to happen to a cop in a school shooting isnβt actually the shooting, itβs the amount of calls they hear from the kids family members to ask if their ok.
Name is Swat. Itβs a show on Netflix
A swat member in an interview once said "the scariest thing to hear in a shooting incident is not the silence, but the phones belonging to the victims ringing presumably by friends and families to check if they're okay" Im paraphrasing a bit but its scary to think about
A real SWAT and a former Marine said if a situation like this ever happened they would actually be fast walking and not moving that slow because in a situation like that time and speed is more vital.
Uvalde cops should watch this show. They might learn something.
As a LEO first responder please remember this: Run, Hide, Fight Do as you saw here, keep hands in the air, identify yourself and where you think the shooter is. Give a simple and brief description. Ex: "Black shirt, male, handgun" remember everyone is stressed in this situation, it's easier to take in simplified information to get the bigger picture. If you're injured, help is on the way. Stuff something into your wound to stop the bleeding, but don't try to stop the responding officers, lives are being lost. Lastly, if you see something, SAY SOMETHING. You can prevent this from happening if you can pick up on the signs. Pay attention to your surroundings, the people you mingle with. God bless you all and I pray that you never find yourself in harms way.
I had a friend named nick, at the time he was 17, 12th grade. He had a full ride scholarship to college and was gonna be an olympic swimmer. Shooter walked through the door of the school while people were leaving, killed 16 if i remember, my friend blocked the bullets and saved 2 girls at the cost of his life. Parkland High School, my friend was Nicholas Paul Dworet.
I appreciate how in the episode they didnβt shy away from showing the chaos and carnage that can occur in these situations. First time I saw this episode I couldnβt help but get choked up seeing the dead kids and that phone ringing on the floor.
The saddest part in this for me is that Lila (the girl making the call in the closet) actually stood in front of the door to protect her friends and took a bullet and later died. The officer Kay who got the call named his daughter after her
In real life, one of the worst calls a law enforcement officer can receive is an active shooter. Officers canβt stop to help anybody until the threat is neutralized, even if it was their own child bleeding out in the hallway they could at most just throw a tourniquet down, but then would have to move on until they take out the shooter.
I'll never forget my mom calling me as we had a active shooter on fort hood in my unit parking lot.. she was watching it on the news while I was living it.. her call made it very real.. I don't even know how to describe it.. but it gives me chills to this day..
Iβll never understand people that do this. Specifically those that do it for βrevengeβ like no, the sixth graders didnβt hurt you, it was Jeremy, and his group of thugs. Doing somthing like this makes you hundreds of times worse than anyone who ever bullied you.
Iβm a cop and I have been dispatched to two school shootings and the worst thing out of it all is when all the kids and bodyβs are taken out itβs the sound of all the phones going off with calls from family members just hoping their kid is ok. In the second shooting I was sent to their was a girl (sadly she was gone) but as we were talking all the bodyβs out for paramedics she was hugging her phone to her chest and it was on with bl00d on it and her last text ever was to her mother saying βMom Iβm scaredβ i retired last year and I still have nightmares about that girl and those kids
Former US Navy Hospital Corpsman here. Current Navy Aviation Electronics tech. The absolute most heartfelt time Iβve had in the Navy was when. At the time the UVALDE elementary school shooting happened. I was stationed at Fort Sam Houston. At Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) hospital. In San Antonio. They called on the Navy Corpsman to respond and help the victims. We did so, Iβm telling you after that day I sat in my car. And sobbed. As a grown man thatβs been hardened by life and the military Iβm telling you this gets me every time. The unimaginable amount of gut wrench and pain and sadness that overwhelms one when reading the headlines β19+ CHILDREN have been killedβ made me literally drop my head in defeat bro. I pray my baby sister and brother never have to deal with this. And all of your sons and daughters. Brothers and sisters too. Thank you for reading.
This guy looks so innocent and has a lovely heart
COPS THAT ARE ACTUALLY PROTECTING, OH MY GOD!!!
Funnily enough they recorded this at my old high school, would say the school but best not, they went through 3 buildings A & C building and Iβm guessing the cafeteria, the Libary was downstairs actually definitely not where they went up to, havenβt actually watched the episode but hey nice to know that my school was chosen for this, a friend met the lead actor and even took a selfie with him
Its a series called SWAT if anyone wants to know
