Why did they ommit the arkana subplot? They kept saying Johnny needed to find his power but they never mentioned the word arkana. That was weird.

2:25 or they're clearly making him the new new protector of Earth realm. Since Raiden is no longer a god, the elder gods needed to choose someone new to protect the realm. Hence fire God Liu Kang

my theory,MK3 will be The team travelling to NetherRealm, the first half will see most of the MC die, then red Raiden will time travel(i know, crazy) to alter the course of the mk2 movie. this will change many deaths. like cole,who could survive and be sent to the NetherRealm for a mk1 callback finale, but this time with both scorpion and Noob Saibot dead and Cole getting the mantle of the new scorpion with a new sub zero. bi han's brother and smoke creating a new lin kuei. Johnny and Sonia now could bond with each other over the death of Jax and return with Red Raiden back to present to fight a revived shao khan. this will cause Shang Sung and quan chi form the deadly alliance. and a new rivalry with scorpion and sub zero

We need Erron Black to show up in the 3rd one

Mortal Kombat 1 isn't time travel, its a whole new universe, he can guide the destiny of people to change history, but he can't bring back those from his old universe. At least not until he collides with parallel universes where everyone else became their worlds god.

I was really hoping, after defeating Bi-Han, Johnny Cage would have said "Fucking Noob..." as a great in-film reference.

What’s wrong with arcana subplot? I like it make sense how they get there powers.

I love what they did with Cole in MK2. I've got an idea though. I think they should bring him back and reveal he's actually the reincarnation of Kiu Liang, Make him the new Scorpion so the MK1 game change makes sense and introduce that the original died having his soul place into the Cyber Sub-Zero.

The way they corrected the biggest issue(Cole young) with the first movie was absolutely smashing

I think Shinnok is going to play a major role in the third film. The group is heading to the Netherrealm to find their fallen comrades, and they’ll need Quan Chi to navigate it since he knows that realm better than anyone. The real issue is that Shinnok is a fallen elder god who essentially rules the Netherrealm, so entering his territory is extremely dangerous. However bringing Quan Chi along could actually work in Shinnoks favor because he can use his dark magic to potentially retrieve Shinnok’s amulet.Shinnok could enter the same portal Raiden is using for the rest of his team inside the netherrealm. Shinnok has to be a central figure in part three just based on how important he is to the Netherrealm storyline. It would make narrative sense to build toward him as the major threat given everything that’s been set up.

I had a feeling that Cole would get the Axe, but dang! They actually gave Jax and Liu Kang the axe as well and I gotta salute the makers for actually killing off some people. But ofc, this is Mortal Kombat. No one truly stays dead
