Love that you emphasized no ai im getting so tired of ai review channels
Does anyone else hear like a rattling sound throughout the video? Like Cicada? It started giving me a headache :( EDIT: Nevermind I turned down the volume and it helped.
Saw it last night, had a good time in the theater. Really like the side characters, and appreciate that we got a protagonist who's just a total jerk. You don't see that very often in horror. Loved the costumes, too. I kinda wish we got more of the elderly hotel boss. He was so fun.
a cool detail that gives away the twist of ohm killing his mom is that when asked if thew guy was caught, ohm says that they were to young to be punnished but they shouldve hung him. Later in his room ohm then tries to hang himself.
13:06 Jerry was the real MVP of this movie 😢
Ohm sounds like Ogham, which is the ancient language here in Ireland...the alphabet on the wall
My thought was adult ohm and his inner child at the end.
Other observation on the last scene with the conquistador and boy…the cork on the bottle is sticking up after it was thrown. There’s no reason for the bottle to be broken.
Absolutely loved how bitter Ohm was after what happened with his mom, i actually hated him untill his first hospital visit. That ending scene where he gave the protagonist and the kid actual happy ending made me tear up❤ he forgave himself and it made all the difference.
2:59 I have a theory when I saw the owner/old man in the wheel chair that the witch had taken his legs when he was dragged through the underworld and somehow got back. That's how he was able to trap the witch and know so much about what happens when the witch shackles you.
The witch is meant to represent your past, and the daemons the dark thoughts from one’s past. For ohm, the witch is him accidentally killing his mother. As it drags him through life, his inner daemons from that event picks him apart leading him to become a bitter and hateful person. In the end there’s nothing left of him and he chooses suicide. In a sense, Ohm gets a second chance. When he literally gets chained, he is able to come to terms for his past and ultimately is able to let go and break the metaphorical chains that tie him For mal, the murder of mistress and his baby is something he will never be able to let go, and in the film you can see that it ruins him because he lives constantly with the fear of getting caught, which just leads him to another murder and his own death.
Not only was the tape recorder and picture a cry for help but also the rope was a cry for help, remember he had a gun earlier he could've ended quickly and simply but gave others a chance to save him
You know, it was more suspense than actually "scary." I loved it and it's definitely worth going to the theater to see.
So the witch was real, but everything else wasnt. So was the tiny saw that was able to Cut the chain from the witch...
1:03 you had me at Human Made Content
Something I noticed about Alby was that he had told Ohm that one of the reasons he was a fan of his novels was that he could relate so much to the characters; Ohm comments that his novels are filled with deeply disturbed people. If Alby had spiked Ohm's whiskey with mushrooms, that could imply that he had asked Jerry for some in the first place. Is it possible that Alby, like Ohm, also had PTSD, but the mushroom powder had helped him come to terms with his past? Maybe it wasn't merely an act of spite, but also lowkey his way of assisting Ohm in HIS emotional catharsis?
Immediate follow and like after the no AI text at the beginning! :)
Please make a video about Oddity 😊 I love your movie analysis’
Actually just finished the movie in the theater when you uploaded. The movie was unsettling in the best way. I went in blind only seeing one trailer months ago and wow I'm so glad i did. What a treat it was! I loved that the witch wasn't really the driving force nor the main focus, it was Ohm trying to solve what happened to Fiona + his own demons. The witch fit in with his story. It's something i don't see many horror movies do.
Am i the only one that on the opening scene thought I sat down in the wrong auditorium? I almost got up thinking it was the Anthony Mackie movie out rn
