Even though some would consider that just as intrusive as malware. It can be toggled off, but you have to dig and most users won't bother. The real reason, some users are speculating, is to justify the insane amount of money Google is spending on Gemini by inflating the usage. Thank you for this. I didn't know. I have uninstalled the offending software entirely. They will still end up installing it regardless of your setup as long as the offending software is still on your machine.
