Nice!! This opens the doors for MFT. They put the modern sensor with phrase detect in a SMALL BODY. There must be a GX series coming!!!
I really hope they also slap a M43 lens mount on it and call it a new “GX”. I understand going after the Fujifilm marketshare but the photography community have been wanting a new GX for years. We’re so close!

Holy shit I'd almost lost all hope! I'm preordering it the second its available. This is something I've really wanted for a long time, and honestly I thought Panasonic had given up on this sort of thing altogether. Modern EVF! Photo/video switch! Actually genuinely small! I'm so excited. That gold is beautiful but the lens rim made me think of that PolarPro "light leak" lens, at least in the thumbnail.
Wow this looks like a little gem of a camera! As an Olympus user this is the first Lumix that I want!
I am happy... because it means that Leica will soon get a D-Lux 9 (based on this camera) on the market 😀

A GX camera with this body - with IBIS and weather sealing - would be very welcomed...
WOW!!!! Lumix stepping up to the plate!!! They took ALL of our feedback (20mp, m4/3, modern features, tactile, fast lens, priced within reason, etc). They even incorporated the third party peek lens cap that all of us LX users bought 3rd party. They were clearly paying attention! And again, less than $1600 MSRP?!?!Lookout OM, you’ve officially got some competition!! Check mate!! LUMIX, you might have me switching from OM now. I’m tired of waiting for a new Pen camera that will take 3 years to release and will probably be $2500. Smart business move Lumix

7:24 😩bang on. This camera is even more agonizing for me than the S9. Asymptotically approaching perfection. It is actually small, it actually ticks almost all of the important boxes . . . _except for the most important box_ of being able to swap lenses! (Yannow, the whole value prop of the M4/3 ecosystem!) Panasonic do deserve massive applause and rightful kudos for finally making a worthy LX100 successor, but that was never the camera I fell in love with. Sadly it seems I will still be waiting for a GX10 or GM10. Use the exact same body, give it an actual M4/3 lens mount and weatherseal it, and I don't care how expensive the camera is, I'll buy it.
That processor and sensor combo is a great news. Tell me a proper GX9 successor is in the pipeline as well. Weather-sealed body, flip up screen, OLED tilty EVF, real-time LUTs and a new weather sealed Leica 15 f1. 7 to go with it.
