Doom 2016 could be released today and it would still be one of the year's best. Gameplay, graphics, and soundtrack are still some of the best of the last 10 years.

Hard to believe it's been ten years since that game came out. Time has flown by ever since. Make you reminisce. And even a decade later, it still holds up. Let's hope we get something new again. Something like this game.
Its crazy how good it still looks. 10 years. Think about when original Doom released in 1993. 10 years later, 2003, Doom looked ancient.
This game really was just such a perfect evolution of the Doom formula. And siege mode on the gauss cannon and the sound that blast makes.... is just perfect.
My favorite thing about this game is they kept the great atmosphere from Doom 3 and just juiced up the gunplay.
Doom Eternal was also excellent but 2016 might be one of the greatest FPS ever made. Also probably the hardest title drop in history.

Doom 2016 is shaping up to be just as timeless as the very first Doom as it should be, nice retrospective and god dam that title drop at the start of the game still gets the adrenaline pumping even now!👍

Am I the only one who thinks DOOM 2016's gunplay is more satisfying than Eternal's? It has more weight to it.

You weren't the only one boss, people were extremely skeptical about DOOM 2016. Then all doubt was gone when we got our hands on it. This game was a fucking banger, and a much needed one at the time too.
Technically not a reboot because it's actually a continuation of doom 64 of all things
I feel like Doom 2016 is the best of the modern trilogy because its so focused; not just in gameplay but in atmosphere and story. Everything is clear, simple and direct. Doom Eternal might have better gameplay but its story and characters completely muddy part of the experience, and Dark Ages suffers because Eternal's worldbuilding forces inherent weak-points to the story.
