I have no idea how league admins and helmets sleep at night for how terrified they are of being overtaken cleanly. That must be some PTSD levels of nightmares.

8:58 Personal Note on this one. I was working the broadcast of that event as one of the announcers. For the sake of everyone involved I will not say the name of the series or the broadcast company. A few days after the race, when the penalty was announced, the LMP2 Team completely left the league in the aftermath. They were not only the reigning champions, but also in the fight for the championship lead when that incident took place. I was FLOORED that they got a penalty for that incident, legitimately had a headache after that news came out.

There is no such thing as "no passing zones" (unless there are yellow flags obviously). People need to google what "racing" means.

I still don't understand how this "you can only overtake in certain, predetermined zones" mentality is so common? Like has that ever been a rule in anything remotely racing related? Where do people get that idea? Are people just horribly misunderstanding racing commentators when they say something like "Turn X is going to be where overtakes are going to happen" or whatever?
