This actually to a man, he was adopted in the US, his white parents just assumed he was Chinese, so they immersed in Chinese culture, he learned Mandarin, attended Chinese events and festivals and etc. But when the son was 17, he started getting his documentations for applying to uni, and he realized he was actually Korean 😂

that friend sucks. the woman CLEARLY said she was not interested and set that boundary, but then went against her wishes and called the adoption agency, which the girl made clear that she DID NOT want, and just set her up for disappointment. (plus saying "white people" when she said she's okay with her adopted family is just dumb and racist as hell.)

There’s a bit of a scandal with the Korean adoption process where children were adopted to American family through pretense. They were told they babies weee orphans or born to single mother but the paperwork seems to be like a copy paste job. In some cases these children were even kidnapped so they could be adopted out

Im glad it worked out in this fictional scenario (and presumably it could work out in real life too) but as an adoptee I’d be PISSED if I told someone explicitly I didn’t want or need to find my birth parents and they contacted the adoption agency anyways
