Hi Mark When we rebuild all the 8HP ZF gearboxes with new steals and frictions we run them in the car on our 4wd link chassis dyno. We run them to temp under low load conditions. Then change the oil we do this twice to remove foreign particles from within the gearbox as the steals bed in. All ZF gearboxes need to hit certain parameters to reset adaptations within the gearbox software, this is normally done with the oil temp within a temperature working window and Throttle position and engine torque request at low load. After the clutch bite points and adaptations have been adapted the gearbox ecu should store the values and work correctly. Feel free to contact me at SRD Tuning if you need anything. You can use our Link 4wd dyno to run the box in and facilities were more then happy to help 👍 Ash
Maybe ask scammer Andrew if he has a test rig😂😂😂
Respect to JCB for being open to explaining their systems
ricardo on a sunday £100k in cash, no cameras lol
the lack of support from Bugatti to help people who want to fix their cars is infuriating.
2 bugatti videos within 7 days is heaven. Matt and Mark 🔥
Hi Mark... I am an aerospace engineer that works for a company that provides the US military high pressure hydraulic systems for military aircraft. We 100% test everything prior to shipping and have developed many testing photocalls for low-volume / high-mix products we provide. In thinking about your problem, I have an idea. Instead of trying to test your very complex system break the issue down into parts that can be tested by existing readily available systems: 1) Ultrasonic submerged clean the transmission WITHOUT the solenoid valves, any port plugs, and the clutch pack & carrier to ensure it is 100% clean in all passage ways. 2) Ultrasonic clean the solenoid valves one at a time with a desktop system and actuating the solenoids (on & off) via a 12v power supply to ensure they are 100% clean. 3) Clamp the clutch pack & carrier to the correct pressure (via your Ricarrdo friend) and spin utilizing an electric motor or automotive engine dyno machine. Just spinning the clutch pack will take minimal HP compared to powering up the entire transmission. Note the clutch pack will need to be at least 50% submerged in hydraulic fluid. Once run-in / deburring of the clutches is done... 4) Ultrasonic clean the clutch disks (both friction and steels). Assemble the whole thing and insert into the car.
Good to see JCB being open and honest…. Should have bought a JCB instead 😂.
A test rig for a Bugatti gearbox? Sounds like a job for Colin Furze !
Its amazing how the community who love these cars are doing far more than the brand itself to keep these cars on the road.
Ask matt to cross reference for you. Maybe that gearbox shared with a polo or passat💀💀🤣
It's actually pretty interesting that JCB was open to even engage in these discussions and on camera. Someone there understands the value of PR even for something "unrelated" to their main business. Free brownie points.
Use your car as a test rig. You have all the hardware sitting in front of you. You can design and mannufacture a custom isolated hydrologic system that uses all the same parts of the Bugatti (eg pumps) but instead of recirculating the hydraulic fluid you can run it through a series of filters before recirculating it. Or just simply continuously circulate brand new fluid and never worry about potentially recirculating swath.
3 Bugatti builds. I hope you all visit the factory together when they are all finished. Park up sit on the bonnet and crack open a beer
Wandering how long before we see Bob on this channel.
Got to give it to JCB. They see the benefits to showing the system and how it works. Bugatti need to give their heads a wobble 😂
I love that JCB got involved for no reason 👏👏👏
Use your engine as a rotating power source together with the Bugatti computer, and integrate an Automatic Transmission Fluid Exchanger into the oil loop system. This setup should continuously replace the oil and remove all contaminants.
JCB guys are the true professionals! Such confidence and perfection.
Big thumbs up for JCB for Explaining the reason of clutch 🔥
