Looks like a quick roadside fix, to let you limp to a tyre shop. Probably worthwhile to have some, I wouldn't use as a permanent solution though.

As a person that repairs tires. DO NOT USE THIS AND DO NOT PATCH YOUR SIDEWALL. if you do you will definitely need a new tire when those fail and most likely have a blowout.

The strips, which are definitely not a pain in the ass are vastly superior and while you shouldn't do so, will last the life of the tire basically. I've ran tires for YEARS after strip patching it.

it's a get you home fix then to the tyre shop with a tyre foam filler, that sidewall one is going to fire out like a .22 under load

i will never knock a tire repair kit for an emergency job, and these dont seem bad for the intended purpose of an "Emergency Roadside Repair Kit." The name says it all, you won't be able to have the tire repaired per the policy of many companies, but you won't be stranded. But, usually, for $20, you can get a professional patch on a tire where the plug and patch come im through the inside and use air pressure and adhesive to push the seal tight.
