DO NOT PATCH SIDEWALLS. Put on spare tire, then get a new tire. YES it will be expensive. But you will be SAFE. Insurance Companies can not only deny claims if they find out(trust me they will find out) if you repair sidewalls on tire, But they can Also Drop your coverage. So you will have to find a NEW insurance company to go with. YOU can also be charged with Criminal Neglect if your Tire was to blow out and cause an accident. YOU will be at fault 100%

For anyone wondering why you never patch / plug the sidewall. The tire top has a steel mesh running under the tread. This is what the tire plugs grip into and also what stop a hole (lets say a nail) from expanding and causing a blow out. Side walls do not have a steel mesh running inside, which means that you run the risk of it blowing out at high speeds. In an emergency, you can use a plug, but only temporarily until you get to where you are going, and always at slower speeds.

Everyone interested in this, go look up the MIT evaluation on Screws & vibration in Aeronautics. You really want a screw vibrating at mach jesus & to rely on it? This is to plug a hole, and get to quickly get to a tire shop to patch, or replace. Not to fix indefinitely as this video is describing.
