MOG SUNDAYS | Digital Activism and Youth Participation | Shohail Furtado
A youth-led call to awaken, engage and fight for Goa’s future, the Shohail Furtado way. Through on-ground strategies and experiences, he explored what is at stake, and how young people across Goa are reclaiming agency. Shohail Furtado spoke about the vital role young people play in protecting Goa’s heritage and environment. He reflected on the common doubt surrounding youth participation — the idea that their efforts don’t lead to real change. But in reality, the opposite is true. Youth-led movements are not only powerful but essential in shaping a better future for Goa. About the speaker : Shohail Furtado - a passionate Goemkar, youth activist, born and raised in Varca, blends visual storytelling, sharp insight, and grassroots experience to expose how Goa's environment and culture are being devastated by an unholy alliance of real estate lobbies and corrupt politicians.
