Mishka, a 2024 National Youth Climate Activism Award recipient, shares how being part of the NYCAA community has strengthened their confidence as a youth climate leader. As an International Affairs student, Mishka is especially interested in climate policy, international environmental law, and the ways politics, economics, and society intersect with sustainability. Mishka is currently studying at the Université de Montréal and spending a study-abroad year at Stockholm University in Sweden. Mishka is also a writer for The Starfish, an online youth journal highlighting youth perspectives. Through NYCAA, Mishka has connected with young climate activists across Canada who are working in diverse ways to address the climate crisis and build a more sustainable future.
