Youth COP 2025 | Young people from Wales call for climate action | COP Ieuenctid Cymru 2025

What Wales eats affects forests thousands of miles away. Young people from across Wales came together at YouthCOP 2025 to call for urgent climate and deforestationfree action, linking decisions made here to their impact and on tropical forests such as the Amazon. Young people spoke about the destruction of forests driven by global supply chains, including soy production, and heard directly from the Guarani Indigenous Peoples of the devastating impact on their health and their communities. and speak directly to decision-makers. YouthCOP 2025 was a Size of Wales conference, linked to COP30, bringing together 300 young people in Cardiff and Bangor. Young people spoke directly to decision makers about making Wales the first deforestationfree nation in the world, and about the responsibility Wales has to protect forests and the people who depend on them. Bu pobl ifanc yn siarad am ddinistrio coedwigoedd sy’n cael ei yrru gan gadwyni cyflenwi byd-eang, gan gynnwys cynhyrchu soi, a chlywed yn uniongyrchol gan Bobloedd Brodorol y Guarani am yr effaith ddinistriol ar eu hiechyd a’u cymunedau, ac am bwysigrwydd siarad yn uniongyrchol â’r rhai sy’n gwneud penderfyniadau. Roedd YouthCOP yn gynhadledd gan Maint Cymru, wedi’i chysylltu â COP30, a ddaeth â 300 o bobl ifanc ynghyd yng Nghaerdydd a Bangor. Siaradodd pobl ifanc yn uniongyrchol â llunwyr polisi am wneud Cymru’r genedl gyntaf yn y byd sy’n rhydd o ddatgoedwigo, ac am gyfrifoldeb Cymru i warchod coedwigoedd a’r bobl sy’n dibynnu arnynt.
