Youth Driving Inclusive Climate Action in Shinyanga, Tanzania | #AUEUYouthActionLab | Impact Story

In Shinyanga, Tanzania, the climate crisis is not a distant threat—it’s a daily reality. From prolonged droughts to unpredictable rainfall, communities are facing growing challenges that are putting livelihoods at risk and deepening inequalities. Yet, in the midst of these challenges, a new generation of leaders is rising. This #AUEUYouthActionLab Impact Story highlights how young people—especially young women and persons with disabilities—are stepping up to lead inclusive climate action. Through a youth-led by AUEU Youth Action Lab Cohort 1 Innovation Grantee, Youth Advocates for the Environment (YAWE), young climate leaders have been equipped to drive community dialogue, influence local decision-making, and champion solutions that reflect the needs of their communities.
