The FarmCoast Documentary (Teaser)
Produced by Ethan de Aguiar & The Marion Institute A region of abundance— a food system at risk. Drive through Southeastern Massachusetts and you’ll see fertile land, working farms, thriving fisheries, and vibrant farmers’ markets. The Southcoast is rich in local food sources—rooted in generations of knowledge, care, and connection to the land and sea. But beneath that abundance lies a more fragile reality. Farmers, fishers, and food producers are facing mounting challenges: rising costs, labor shortages, climate pressures, and broken supply chains. At the same time, locally grown food is too often lost due to gaps in distribution—while food insecurity continues to impact communities across the region. Without intervention, this imbalance could lead to a growing food crisis. 🌾 About the Film The FarmCoast Documentary is a powerful new project from The Marion Institute and its Southcoast Food Policy Council—created in collaboration with award-winning filmmaker Ethan de Aguiar.
