Intense discussion is normal....disrespect needs to be the sign we have to distance until we calm down.

I dislike arguing with a man I love and like. I don't mind having disagreements just not arguing with one another

Agruing= stress to the body. Nope don't want it. Pillow fight, make love and let's go to sleep 🤷

I find relationships where people don't "argue" or have conflicts to some degree are usually relationships where 1 or both persons are avoiding issues to keep the peace and they end up miserable together in years to come.

Arguing isn't healthy. If you wouldn't do it at work, don't do it at home. Having different opinions and discussions can help ya'll grow as an individual and together

The bottom line is this. If you grew up in a dysfunctional home where all these negative behaviors were normalized, you need to unlearn them before expecting to sustain a loving, healthy relationship. The bigger issue is that far too many people have no idea that they're practicing said negative behaviors. They won't take the time to unlearn them because social media and society have told them that they can not be alone after 30. They'll be mocked and ostracized for doing so. We live in a sad, sad world.

Outstanding video, A month ago marked the end of my five years of romantic relationships. Making the choice to end a relationship with someone I love has a significant effect on me. I have tried everything to get him back, even if it has been in vain, and I can't picture my life without him. I still find myself missing him and thinking about him a lot, even though I try my best to avoid thinking about him. Why I am stating this here is beyond me.

I voice my opinions with my SO and he expresses his own. We don’t argue - we try to understand each other’s viewpoints. He has never raised his voice and neither have I…😊

Arguing happens when a person is not being heard, the communication somewhere is not being understood, heard, or even respected.. or when one partner or both loses emotional control, which then leads to lower emotional intelligence..which then..the solution ( if even it's agreeing to disagree) is not going to be reached.. meaning resolved, meaning calmed down, and moved on from..it leads to a cycle of held in aggression..then both parties will go through it unheard, unvalidated, etc.. unhealthy..those who say it's healthy is confusing different views and having a certain independence from their partner..from toxicity..the highs of the rush of adrenaline perhaps and all that that happens, or whatever happens to the body once an argument calms down..i believe is being confused with healthy bonding

I wanna watch this entire episode because my partner does not know how to express a single emotion and he doesn't know how to tolerate hearing me express emotion without attacking. We started couples counseling, and the counselor told him to start labeling and sharing emotions but he literally won't do it. He will get up and just walk out in the middle of a disagreement. Instead of hearing my emotions let alone validating them, he will belittle me and criticize me to the point that it feels gaslighty. He never used to be this way until we moved in together, and then all of a sudden it was like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Now I'm not even sure if this is a relationship I should stay in. People don't have to say a single word to even convey disrespect. Not all forms of emotional vengance, emotional abuse, and disrespect look like some sort of a volatile domestic violence scream fest. Some people know how to go for the jugular in more sophisticated ways. I'm just putting that out there for all the women who have been there and understand what I'm talking about.

Once you start getting disrespectful, I really really started questioning how I feel

I’m looking for a serious relationship built on trust, respect, and real connection.

I'm ready. Im not participating when respect is gone. We will end it for the moment and pickup it back up. I'm going to stay ready. I'm just over all the negetive, hurtful, peace taking and selfish stuff. I dont want it and im not doing what I dont want to do. Period.

Every relationship is going to have arguments/disagreements that normal it’s only a problem when they cuss at each other call each other out they names and talk over each other.

Exactly. There is a thing called constructive critisism. I think we can argue in that line. Being disrespectful is not making the relationship stronger anyway.

Why argue it's a waste of time and your energy. It's designed to destroy your self esteem and and hinder you in your future relationships. Speak your peace and move forward.🌹🦋🙏

Speak Stephen, some people give the impression that constant conflict in relationship is normal because that's the dynamics of relationships.... especially marriages .
