Do you have a friend in a toxic relationship? How do you help someone you really care about get out of an unhealthy relationship? Start off by not criticizing or judging your friend in the first place. Give your friend a boost in their self esteem first because they are probably already low on that. Try to relate by sharing your past bad experiences so you guys are on the same page, but of course, be mindful. The goal is to relate to them here. Lastly, be honest and supportive in the new direction your friend will go. Seek a professional if all else fails. You should make a video about how some people don't realize they are in a toxic relationship, like why they are blind to it all.
Make a video about religious pressure in families please!
I've tried to get my friend out of her relationship but this is the third time she went back to them after me and countless friends tried to help. Before long our own relationship with each other became toxic as she started to copy her lover's actions towards me. Sad to say I cut connections because I started to get depressed because of her coming to me complaining but still going back. I know it sounds bad but I just had to leave her alone and I completely cut connections
Psych2Go can you do a video on signs that YOU are the toxic *friend* and what to do if you are, please?
what if they dont WANT to get out because they insist on not being lonely
Can you make a video about hearing voices in your head (auditory hallucinations) and what causes them?
Can you make a video on manipulative and verbally abusive parents?
this honestly could not have been posted at a more appropriate time! kind of scary actually, ahaha!
I know you shouldn't give up on a friend who is in a toxic relationship, but I have given up on mine after months of supporting her. I found it draining to give her all the attention and support, for her to just forget all about what we talked about and run back into his arms again and again, and it was affecting my life in a negative way. She is in a state of complete denial anyway, she actually thinks her abusive partner is a good guy, and she takes all the blame for everything going wrong in the relationship, so there is really nothing more I can do about this situation!
welp, i have a toxic relationship with my “friend”. but can’t seem to really get rid of her since she sticks with my friend group and one of my best friend is best friends with her.
I think the worst part is those who would rather be in a toxic relationship rather than be single.
1. Dont judge or criticise them for being in the relationship, be respectful they have the right to make mistakes. Try to understanding and empathetic. 2.approach them gently. So they don't feel more alone. Chances are if you act of line they'll confide in thier partner and the partner will take advantage if the situation. 3.give them a boost in thier self esteem. Treat them as if they deserve more. They dont know what a healthy relationship is. We accept the l9vewe think we deserve. If all someone knows is pain and destruction how do you expect them to know what healthy looks like. 4. Tell them about your past experience. Let them why it didnt work and had to end. And that you made excuses for why you stayed. The best thing about failed relationships is that they made you better lovers. 5. Be honest and check in often. Dont give up and distance yourself and dont lose hope. Your friend needs help and your persistance could help. 6. Contact a professional if they need immediate assisstance.
My sister is stuck in an unhealthy relationship but she keeps going back to him because "he's changed" and she "has control over the situation" but the cycle keeps happening. I'm tired of cleaning up after her fallouts so I've had to pull away for my own sake. It's hard because I love her but at this point I feel like my support is enabling her
Hi if you’re reading this. Please remember you’re beautiful 😍and I hope you are having a wonderful day! From a small youtuber in Australia! 😍🐻🤗
Amazing video! I really wish it was out there when I was in a toxic relationship and my friends tried to talk to me at first, but I was very stubborn and crazy in love to see they are right. So, I distanced myself from them and they accepted it. If you are in a toxic relationship yourself, let your friends be there for you, even if you feel like they are against you. Don't push them away just because you are afraid that they are right. They are your friends and they can see your relationship and you in a different (less emotionally clowded) way.
i try my best to aid my best friend in seeing what red flags are in her relationship . they won't take advice unless they see it from their own perspective and develop their own understanding of it
Its like you could read my mind, exactly what i need now!
As a person who used to be in a unhealthy/toxic relationship, I do agree with this video. Sadly my friends didn't help me with it because they were friends with both of us. I had to realize on my own that it wasn't good for me or him and I do to this day wish someone would have helped me with it
This is so true. I didn’t realise I was in a toxic relationship until my friend who witnessed his behaviour told me that it wasn’t normal. I had accepted it as normal.
A lot of the time, tough love is the best advise that someone can give someone else. Trying to be someone's savior usually ends badly for you, just sayin'.
