They tease you then can’t take a joke back 4. They don’t understand that NO means NO 5.they get mad at you for not responding to their text messages 6. They try to upstage you in everything 7. Spreading rumors or saying “it’s jsut a joke” after insulting you 8. If your feeling down they try to make you feel bad for them by blaming everything on a past tragedy

How I knew I was in a toxic friendship 1. They started being friends with people who hated me 2. They dated every guy I liked 3. The ''hanging out with them is draining'' isn't necessarily because of a toxic friendship. You might just be uncomfortable with the fact of hanging out, it could be because of the place, the activity or the amount of people around you

I was in a toxic friendship, but she was really controlling and manipulating, because she always blocked me over small things and tried manipulating me into thinking that I was the rude one, and I lost like half of my friends because of her. Stay safe and out of controlling relationships/friendships! Here are some more signs: -Competitive -Mad/jealous when you have other friends -Trying to take your stuff -Always asking for your stuff and never giving it back -Clearly lying (ex. like if they say they need money because they’re “poor” but have a ton of money) -Always playing the victim but never apologizing when they are rude -Being rude and playing the victim -You feel uncomfortable around them -Negativity comparing you to other people (ex. If they say oh, you’re really bad at this compared to me) -Laugh at your problems (ex. One time I was talking about how my dog died, and when I showed my “friend” a picture, she burst out laughing, saying “he’s… I guess cute?” Then kept laughing) -Agreeing with rude people when you didn’t do anything (ex. More signs (from my own experience): - Constant put downs framed as jokes - Love Bombing (yes, this happens in friendships, too) - They make you feel like you're too naive and have to be looked after all the time. - When you bring up their behavior that hurt you, they put the blame on you and don't apologize (in this case, my ex-friend told me that I needed to be more up front with her. She never actually apologized).
