They're "sorry" they lost a doormat, a punching bag. Protect yourself!

This confirms my decision to live separately. He’s changing, actively participating in therapy, deeply sorry, remorseful, ashamed, but I’m afraid it’s too late for me. I feel relaxed, happy, free, able to make decisions, living apart. Sorry, not sorry!

"I'm sorry for not realizing sooner how to stand up for myself and learn what I deserve in a relationship" I felt that

"You weren't sorry when I was begging for the bare minimum." Felt that.

They never thought that you will leave. They don't change

I ended a relationship with a man that I loved very much. He treated me with such disrespect. The day I ended things he had a smile on his face as I started to cry. I realized at that time he was getting off on the pain he was causing me. If I ever have a moment where I think I miss him I remind myself of who he really is. Leaving was very hard. Staying would have been so much worse!

And then when their 'sorry' doesn't work anymore they'll make you the villain for not wanting to work on the relationship and make themselves the sweet innocent victim who was so cruelly left.

Exactly. They don't believe you will ever get sick of their mistreatment and leave. They act like they didn't know or understand how hurtful they were being when you told them several times and they literally laughed or invalidated or dismissed your feelings and concerns. So once you realize there is no point in trying to work with them any longer, something inside changes and you no longer love them or look at them the same. Then it's just too late and they realize you lost all the love and respect for them, that's when they make a half assed attempt at trying to get you back to abuse you again.

They will SAY they're sorry. They will SAY they will change. But they aren't. And they WON'T. It will be a never ending cycle. I'm SORRY I lost SEVEN years thinking they would.

Take it from someone who waited till it was to late to change.. everthing this man said is true and valid. Don't be like me and wait till the end to try and change to be a better man. By then she's already checked out.

This is fully accurate. You can’t “unpush” someone off a cliff. Done is done, sorry is a word being used for manipulation by the time you get here. There is NO actual remorse behind it.

It’s rare to find someone who explains my life so completely accurately..

Thank you.❤ This is it. This is exactly the reason why women initiate between 70 and 80% of divorces, worldwide.

Damn I needed to hear this, he's been telling me he's changed but didn't care to respect me when he told me my opinion of him didn't matter. I ended things and he didn't take me seriously, he took my silence for time to compose myself and go back but I wasn't going to. I feel awful for walking away from him and he's not making it easy with voicemails crying and telling me how awful I am for walking away. I needed this, a reminder that I'm not worthless without him.

Broke up from a relationship like this two days ago. It hurts but I know it is for the best

OMG I just left my narcissistic BOYfriend because of all of this. The last time he made me cry and I brought it up to him, he said he was crying too. 😒 where? He said internally. He was the one yelling the whole time. I packed all my things and left and blocked him. Good riddance. I feel so amazing because my smile is truly genuine now.

This hits really hard. As a woman who is in a really toxic relationship, this hits home. Your videos are amazing.

Watch how they use the word “sorry”. It’s like a get out of jail free card in monopoly. When the word is yelled, the meaning is totally lost.

You literally described what happened in my 30 plus years relationship. When he realized I was leaving for good, he went through the stages of grief right before my eyes. After anger and bargaining, he finally came to acceptance (months later) and he said (referring to himself) “I was a total A$$.” Well, I have to admit it was a little satisfying to hear him say that, but the whole situation was sad and there were no winners in the end. I still grieve almost 12 years later.

My wife just told me it’s my last chance to get it right, I don’t want to lose her so it’s time for me to figure out my own stuff to be better for her. Fight for your marriage men if she needs change you give her change. I’m going to therapy tomorrow so I can figure out how I can be who I was meant to be so I can be a better partner to her. God bless yall stay in prayer also.
