I stayed cuz of guilt ... I didn't want to hurt him or be the one who "broke up the family" but my daughter expressing the anxiety we were inducing in her..opened my eyes

I don't critcize myself for marrying & divorcing an abusive man. My mother was abusive. It's all I ever knew. I was gaslighted into believing it was my fault. I eventually learned differently, but even if it was all my fault, I did not want to live with that man. Period!

Plus, growing up in an abusive covert malignant N environment, we don't learn escape tactics. We grew up in survival mode. If in another bad relationship, it turns into a new survival mode. We were not given the tools to escape. 😢
