This is very accurate. I currently live with a toxic, manipulative man. I have learned to detach any of my emotions towards him and know how to talk to him to keep him calm and make him feel he is in control. I know what I’m doing to make him go on his own will without violence to occur. He is slowly leaving my life and it’s all with safety in mind.

Absolutely. I needed to hold my head up when I ended the relationship, knowing I had done my absolute best with nothing more I could have offered. That was how I knew there was nothing more to hope for. Then it was easy to finally let it go forever.

Yes! I was in a relationship with a toxic person for 10 years. The first three were cool, and the middle two were, eh, BUT I spent the last five trying to get out and finally did and NEVER looked back. I've been without him since, and life is so good. He moved on and is with someone now. I feel sorry for her. I believe she is going on her 3rd year with him. Peace of mind is priceless.

That's where I am at. I feel so broken and tired but I haven't given up.
