"I'm no expert but... shouldn't love feel like teamwork instead of slavery?" -A really important Discord message I got 2020
I want a relationship with Dr. K
My gf just left me out of the blue then a week later wanted me back. I said no, it was hard to do but it was the right thing. I told her I want someone that respects me and won’t hurt me like that. Know your worth.
Can’t get stuck in a relationship if you can’t even get into one to begin with 😔
Every single comment is going to be a variation of 'I'm not in one lol'
I'm stuck in a 5 year relationship and we've broken up and gotten together so many times. Sheerly out of dependance. She treats me like shit and takes advantage of me, and I keep on holding on because she always promises to change. I know things won't change, but the fear of losing her is worse than the pain of having her around. I need to make change.
These shorter explanation videos are so amazing. It can be hard to find the time to watch an entire interview. Five to fifteen minutes is a lot more doable
Self-confidence is a big factor here. When you lack one, its really hard to rationalize other's bad behavior because they will usually lie about it or come up with excuses. And you will end up putting their version of what happened or why they act a certain way above yours. Even worst if you're the type to avoid confrontations at all cost.
Change always hurts. We get used to our situation, adapt to it to a degree and our energy conservation drive does the rest...
I love the titles of "Psychiatrist & Dota 2 player"
1) assign responsibility 2) accept it 3) forgive - yes you did screw up, but that's ok no one is perfect You have to start by calling it what it is. Hold yourself responsible and the ones you love. The things that protect us from hurt. Sign us up for more hurt down the road.
This came at a perfect time. Just went through a break up yesterday.
I clicked on this so fast,I'm in a relationship at the moment,it's a conventional dominant male submissive female type of dynamic, been over a year now and jesus I've never had my emotions and feelings pulled and stretched so much and its taken me till recently to notice as how could something so gentle hurt you and treat you like shit? I've started holding both of us responsible but I just want it to end I'm judt stuck in the good times.
The most important and intense romances I've had were nearly all abusive. My last and most positive relationship ended because my partner became extremely neglectful. My worst relationship was a partner that would punch me in front of their friends for speaking before they did. I made all the typical excuses with each relationship. Protip, they will not change no matter how much they say they will. It always felt wrong to think ill of them, like I was the "bad one." If you feel that, then remember you're not. Even now I see abusive behavior in my platonic relationships that really hurts me so I have ended them. Have I given up? No, I think love is great. Stay strong all you kings and queens. Don't settle for an abusive situation, you're worth more than that and you deserve much better. I'm sorry if this over sharing in a youtube comments section but this topic brings it out of me. Have a goodnight.
holy shit you just described my last relationship. so many “apologies” with words and not actions. so much blaming her upbringing and parents.
I just broke up with my boyfriend, we were in LDR over 9 months. I saw some toxic behaviors around 6 months in, but I was so in love. I chose to compromise and accept them. But later it got worse and worse, the last two months, I was pretty much the only one running the relationship. Two nights ago, two of our mutual friends told me he used to cheat on his exes for some casual hook ups all the time and suddenly I felt free and he always gave me the impression that he never did anything bad in his previous relationship and in his story, he was always the victims. Funny enough, one of toxic behaviors I saw early on was he would accuse me for sexting other guys and got really upset for no reason. I now understand because he has done that and got away with it so he thinks others would do the same. My guy friend told me he was a hypocrite, a narcissist, low self-esteem... I was so blind with love, so attached to his attention. And now I have learned I have to fully accept myself, be kind to myself and love myself fully. Thank you for reading all these. No matter what you are going through, trust your gut. Don't give away your power.
"The things that we do to protect ourselves from hurt are the things that sign us up for more hurt down the road" - is a general theme, not just relationships. In my family there's a lot of "don't call me out on my behaviour and I won't call you out on your behaviour"
She cheated on me, I forgave her. She cheated on me again and I was forced to break up with her two weeks ago. I think about her every hour of every day. I'm 31, Im running out of time to start over. It all looks very, very bleak guys. I don't even want to date now, no girls seem appealing and Im not sure I can trust again. This is Hell.
I'm loving the update to the titles. These new ones make me want to click a lot more and I like the shorter content a lot better because I usually don't have the time to watch 2 hour streams
