Datacenters are NOT cheap! They won't have enough money to build it, raising capital will not cover it, not even close.
Good video, did you fork this mic branch from github? 🙂
And why shouldn't AI go for hardware engineering?
to put it into a clearer context, you dont need a job that is sitting on a desktop. you need hardware engineers which serve the data centre, its a totally different roles.
I've got all the answers, but I'm not gonna tell ya
If you're running towards AI, it means you're chasing every little new thing that comes out in relation to AI, which also means you're not being productive. Employers are not stupid and will see this.
Can you provide a link to that clip you showed the video?
sorry but as you said the datacenter's require lots of power and water what happens when they pop up in every city and start creating issues for the residents. what if govt decides to limit the number of datacenter's. All of this feels like a sudden storm, not sure how long its going to last..
Software engineering, which is what AI is replacing, is a totally different role than a hardware engineer or civil engineer that data centers are looking for. the skills do not transfer. it would be like telling a bunch of nurses that neurosurgeon roles are available. they might be in the health care industry but they went to school for entirely different skills. also data centers only employ a couple hundred employees. the people working at data centers are most likely contractors. so even though they are getting a large pay check they have to pay for health insurance, retirement, and PTO out of pocket.
Am I the only one getting headaches watching this? Bro, there are way too many cuts 😭
She's advertising Claude
Record while holding a FORK ........I mean I sometimes eat noodles with a spoon and um.......... lol
So a software engineer, who's been in the business for 10+ years, should just move to hardware.. With no specialized training.. For $80k and the hopes of getting back to their previous salary in another 5 to 10 years? 😂
Copium
Datacenters don’t employ all that many people. Maybe 30-100 people? They get enormous tax breaks for ~25 years. This video is more copium. I’m sure many of these datacenter jobs are contractors. The snake is eating its tail. Eventually they’ll figure out how to replace the technicians with robots. The playbook has been laid out in decades of manufacturing. Water is going to be one of the fundamental constraints in the future that’s going to throttle a lot of this hedging on the token predictor technology at scale. Desertification is a real phenomena exacerbated by climate.
I don't see a decrease in demand for developers. If anything, in the last 2-3 months I've seen more requests compared to last year. A decrease in “matcha drinkers”? Sure. But all this “vibecoding” stuff? Projects that are supposed to last more than 2-6 months, with long-term plans, updates, maintenance, and continuous improvements, simply won’t survive without a real developer behind them. Is mandatory to have someone who takes responsibility for the output and is available to fix things when they break. What I actually see is a lot of incompetence from people who, even with incredibly powerful tools in their hands, still fail to build anything truly important. What I’ve learned in the last two years is this: if you didn’t enjoy coding manually before, you’re not going to last more than a year doing “vibe coding,” even if the generated output is perfect. Nothing to do about it. I think this is the ultimate proof that some people simply won’t learn programming, even if the computer writes the code for them.
how do you get this information?
Bro your videos truly deserves millions of views.
I'm not working in a factory lmao. I'll just laterally shift if I need to. No need to leave the industry.
Unlike coding, Hardware is real Engineering. Most programmers will struggle with it.
