Oddly enough that IS how they used to make their gravy. They would empty the fryers at the end of closing and take the sludge from the bottom to make the next days gravy. When KFC was sold they changed to a powdered mix that is what they use to this day. The founder of KFC would visit random locations to inspect them after the sale and yell at them about the lower quality gravy, calling it "wallpaper paste".
