Today we check out the Minecraft 26.1.2 Tiny Takeover update. To show off the new baby mob textures, we get started on a Mob Museum project where we will attempt to display all the different mobs in the game. It's been a long time since I've tuned in, but I am so happy to see this series is still going. Like many, I've been watching for a long time, at least since the Redstone update. Though I don't see these videos on my feed often, yesterday I graduated from college, & today this was the first video on my feed. It's a sign I need to go back and watch all the videos I've missed the last 4-5 years. Thank you, Etho, for keeping the series going, & the audience, who has kept a shared sense of wonder lit inside all of us this entire time. May we all share good health and good fortune!
Hey Etho! I just got recommended this video and I cried inside a bit. I watched your videos since I'm in middle school, you're my first minecraft youtuber that I was genuinely "addicted" to. I vividly remembered one time where I binged all of chocolate island video, mindcrack, and the mancaves origin the whole summer break. I continued watching into highschool and early college years, needless to say you were a core part of my childhood and teenage years. But somewhere along the way life got too busy and I just stopped watching minecraft videos. Cut to now, I'm approaching my 3rd year through my first job. How time flies. Watching this video really bring huge nostalgia and makes me realized how far I've come as a person. I really want to thank you for always being there for the young me, and for always being the same Etho I always knew. :')
Watching ETHO has been like a region to me. Been here since he started this world. Still going strong brother🫡
"Boss" and "Head Curator" could be special employees at The Mob Museum. Great video as always Etho, thank you!
For the large collections, you could possibly make a longer display by alternating wall-berry so the animals stand with 1 block between mobs instead of 5. Oh, and hang the Dinnerbone mob standing on the ceiling.
I think keeping all of the chambers a standard size will be really useful in quickly understanding the size of each mob, also how much information is displayed is up to you, if you wanted to make it look like a museum you would see in real life having as much info plastered on the walls as possible will give that feeling.
It would be really cool to incorporate the animal farms into the museum build, perhaps they could go in the basement underneath the exhibit for the corresponding mob
Hey Etho, For the end of the rooms, you could do a small pixel art of corresponding mob's faces. That way, it's clear what mob's room it is from afar/outside the room as well. Glad to see Project Pokemon has returned!
I love the build so far! As a museum goer, I often see a huge panel with information about the artworks in the room. It could be interesting to have some of that going on. It could be meta (as in the date the animal was added or other techy stuff) or more diegetic (as in what the animal does in the game). It would have been fun to go the science museum route by having the end display be about the biome the animal lives in, its food, the gear used with them, but I feel that the fact that they change colour by biome breaks that a bit. Looking forward to seeing where the build goes!
I really appreciate you covering the updates in this series, as I don't follow Minecraft updates at all anymore outside of your videos.
Etho I have been a fan and watching since I was in 5th grade. 2013. 11 years old. I’m 24 now. I admire your dedication and can’t express how impactful and integral you were and have been to my childhood and teenage years. You’re awesome and it’s so refreshing and brings happiness to get on and watch your videos to this day. Thank you for everything man for real!
I LOVE the tiny animals floating on display. It’s so freaking good please don’t change it
Hi Etho! Love the series, An idea for the world tour could be you use the previous world tour as your baseline and only show off the stuff you have done in the episodes since. So your world tour this time around could just show off the new stuff and changes made since the last one, then make sure you refer people back to the other tour if they want to full in depth tour!
I like the simple design of the museum, and I think it'll be cluttered up by info all of it
Wow, I love “ocelotl’s,” which is a fun Etho combination of ocelot and axolotl.
World tour with Bdubs exclusively is a goated idea
Hey Etho! I think a cool idea for the llamas would be to display all the types of carpets on them but put them in a minecart sunken into the floor, so u can see the carpet texture from the top and have them cycle around in a circle in the floor or possible do a carousel design and this could be done for horses although I think it would be best to just stick to diamond, gold, chain, copper? And leather horse armour instead of the different colour variants for leather.
I'm gonna' add my vote to having Bdubs join you for the world tour, and also for having Bdubs GIVE the world tour (with no prep). I know it probably won't happen, he'd have to put aside like literally an entire real-life day to do it, but my god it would be fun. It wouldn't even matter that the video would be stupidly long, everyone would love it. And if he 'gives' the tour, he could cross-post his perspective to his channel maybe.
Maybe with the saddles, you could store them in the shelves around the base and then switch them out as an interactive part to the museum? Maybe.. Great video, as always 😊
THE WIKI PROJECT!!!! First Etho video I watched, & why I subscribed to this channel in the first place. man so much has happened since then. This mob zoo project is scratching ALL KINDS of itches. So happy to so the wiki project return in some form. Excited to pop over there in the world tour. You talked about bringing it back a little bit, is that just what this mob zoo project is? Maybe you could break it up into a several smaller museums of several smaller sub-categories of the game, like the zoo. I love the idea of stuff on the shelves, but i think stuff on the wall would look too busy super quickly. i love the idea of hearts, xp, what is used to breed, and then death drops. maybe one on each side of each display? might get way too busy... would work super well in the display books, but it would be less visible. which is quite possible worth it.
